“nice place to do some snorkling”
Reviewed 20 May 2012

We were looking to do a bit of snorkling in Eilat. The beaches along the promenade did not have good snorkling so we took a bus to the Nature Reserve. They have a nice coral reef just offshore which can be reached by walking out on a dock. The water was clear and the coral formations and fish were plentiful. They charge an admission to get in but I think it was worth it. You can use the beach chairs as part of the admission and it was a nice spot to sit and relax. It is easily reachable by public bus. We had our own snorkles but they have rentals of masks, snorkels and fins if you want them.

“Great snorkeling”
Reviewed 20 May 2012

There is usually a bit of southward going current so the best thing to is inter at the norther end and slowly drift south along the reef (water depth of about 3 meters). There are also rocky outcrops in water of 5-10 meters depth (Joshua and Moses rocks) but you need to ask a local where they are.
Coral is in good condition, fish life is great.
Different lighting conditions and different fish at different times of the day. My favorite is late afternoon.

“Very nice”
Reviewed 6 May 2012

If you like to dive, and only if you like to dive since you should take your time here, it is really very nice. You don't really dive but float with the right goggles and watch the corals and the fish. The views here are spectacular, more vivid than in the underwater observatory. It takes time since you need to swim a lot and get far from the beach. Very recommended experience.
