As a family of 4 we chose this hotel because it was advertised as a No Smoking hotel. Thinking they would be better we booked 2 “deluxe” version rooms and they were in fact both terrible. After our first night we woke up each morning and went to sleep each evening to smell of cigarette smoke. Made SEVEN complaints to management and nothing was done. Once they had our money they just did not care. I truly regret booking this sorry excuse of a hotel. Stay well away from this one.

THE ROOMS: Yellow stains and cracks on the ceilings, Squeaking door hinges, Broken door handles, Dusty furniture, Half painted parts of the room, Small fridge from the 80s not working, Door chain held by two lose screws, poor wi-fi signal as each floor only had 1 small router near the lift with 7-8 rooms trying to connect to it. Windows that wouldn’t close properly letting in the sounds from street below. Radiator that did not work everyday despite outside temperatures of only 9c.

BATHROOM: Shower cubical with No Cubical or shower curtains flooding the bathroom after a shower, Leaking toilet bowl on to the bathroom floor, Dirty basin and tap, Black mould around the shower tray, cracked tiles, black mould on tile grout,

BREAKFAST AREA: Basic choice of breakfast food, Breakfast tables and chairs often dirty and had sticky parts. Bits of food under the tables.

CORRIDORS: Dark corridors only got lit if you found and trigger the sensors. Old and dirty carpets. Filled with cigarette smoke in the mornings and evenings.

LOBBY: The glamorous looking part of the hotel hiding the poor conditions and facilities up in the rooms.

Room Tip: I can't imagine there would be any 'good rooms' at this hotel

I stayed here for the third time recently, the last time being 7 years ago. We arrived at dawn in Istanbul and used the Hotel arranged taxi to get into the City. On arrival we were clearly too early for our room reservation (1400) but staff allowed us to book in by 9AM which was great because we were whacked. The Hotel is a budget hotel but that shouldn't put you off. Ok, aspects are a little tired - such as the bathroom facilities which could do with an upgrade. But by and large the Hotel is really tidy and clean. The staff are formal but sincerely helpful and the rooms and dated but comfortable and clean. Breakfast was a pleasant surprise - generous portions and varied foods on offer. So - this is a well located hotel in the middle of the old town, Its five minutes walk from the Galatea Bridge and ten minutes walk from the Blue Mosque. I would definitely stay here again - its great value.

We arrived in Istanbul (family of 5) early morning. Pre booked Transport was waiting for us. It took 1hr from Sabiha Gokcen airport to arrive at the hotel in Sirkeci.
Nice facade of the hotel. Very narrow streets all around with plenty of restaurants.
The hotel lobby is beautiful and well designed. Wi-Fi available. The rooms were not satisfactory for a 4 star hotel. The superior double room we stayed in had plenty of space but the furniture were dated. The sink in the bathroom Room 201 was misaligned. The fridge stopped working in room 201 and 210. We had to wait 2 days before it was repaired. Room 210 is a triple room and again this was quite dated and did not feel like a 4 star environment at all. There was no mini bar just an empty fridge.
Brkfst was not bad but it's a bit repetitive after 3 days. The website advertise breakfast with a view of the Bhosphorus however this was not the case as breakfast was in the basement (which was clean and well decorated). Breakfast staff were very helpful and polite. Cleaning of rooms was ok but not done daily.
All tv channels are in turkish and there is no options for subtitles or change of languages. Tv remote was not functioning at all times.

Despite its low standard as a 4 star hotel, the location was very good as we could walk to the nearest tram station within 4 mins. Its quite centeal to reach the spice market and the river to take the ferry to the Asian side of Istanbul.
Plenty of shopping all around and within walking distance.

24 yrs ago - I remember the lobby atmosphere quite lively as there was a coffee bar there. This is no longer functioning.

The hotel should be a good standard 3 star instead of a low standard 4 star.
