Our third stay at the Ciragan Palace after a gap of two years and we were not disappointed in any way by our choice for an eight night stay, combining business and pleasure. Though the hotel was fully booked on arrival, service throughout our stay was absolutely first class, from the friendly door men and reception staff, through to the efficient room and maid service, and attentive spa and restaurant personnel. Highest standards are the norm throughout this hotel and combined with its' superb location, we would recommend it without hesitation.

Room Tip: Even if you are a regular visitor to Istanbul the Bosphorus view rooms are well worth the extra cost.

We stayed 4 nights with the familiy at the Ciragan Palace. We had organised a pick-up by the hotel at the airport and arrived in time and relaxed at the hotel.
Our rooms were huge, elegant and had direct view on the Bosphorus, which we particularly enjoyed from our private balcony. There was a special attention from the staff every day in our room: flowers, sweets, incredibly coloured soap at the bathroom, etc. It was our first stay in Istanbul and when booking our week-end, we were hesitating whether it wouldn't be more convenient to stay at a hotel in the historic area of the city where the major tourist attractions are located and which offers an interesting choice of hotels of all categories. Finally, we didn't regret our choice to stay at the Ciragan Palace from where all major sites of the city are easily to reach within 20 - 30 minutes either by taxi, or depending on the traffic situation, by tram. When spending the day visiting the tourist attractions with crowds of people, you really appreciate the resort feeling the Ciragan Palace provides thanks to its pool, its garden and of course the Bosphorus.
The weather being globally fine during our stay we particularly enjoyed the breakfast on the terrace of the restaurants with a splendid view on the Bosphorus, the perfect holiday feeling! We had dinner every evening in one of the restaurants of the hotel, there is great choice of fish and local dishes but also international and Italian food. If you prefer to have dinner outside, there is also a choice of restaurants within walking distance.
The service was always very nice and friendly, very efficient for the concierge, at check-in, for departure and at the bar. At the restaurants the staff was very attentive and nice but sometimes had some difficulties to cope with the number of people (in particular at breakfast the restaurant was full!).
We spent an excellent week-end at the Ciragan and can highly recommend it.

This hotel is really amazing. Wake up and swim with sun rising over the Bosphorus. Beautiful rooms, top notch service, but of course, at a price. Great hotel though!

Stayed at the Ciragan Palace the last weekend May 2012. One of the best properties in Istanbul, top shelf. Rooms were clean, staff attentive, concierge very helpful. Wi-Fi is available in rooms and all over the hotel, free to guests

Martini's on the promenade watching the world go by as the sun sets on the Bosporus...sublime

Dinner at Tugra highly recommended, the whole evening was magical. The sea bass ( wrapped in vine leaf, no oils or spices....finger licking good!) the best I have eaten anywhere in the world!

Minor hiccups: Rooms are very expensive. Despite that be prepared for no coffee or tea in the room like we have in most US or Asian hotels, so you need to order room service. And do get your room rate booked with breakfast or you will pay for it...Ciragan Palace has a lavish breakfast spread but at about USD 70 or so per person (depending on the exchange rate) that is a bit much if you stay for more than a few days. Wonder if this is even meaningful revenue contributor for the hotel as it seriously detracts from the brand value and is a real irritant when you are paying upwards of $700 a room night.

The Duty Manager, Zeki was outstanding in his efforts to make our stay comfortable and must be commended.

All in all, a great stay, highly recommended

5 Stars

Room Tip: Rooms with Bosphorus view are great, but so are the others. Most of the time is spent touring town in any case, or out on the hotel grounds...

This is one of the best hotels in Istanbul, and the world. The position is simply sublime, on the shores of the Bosphorus mid way between the historic part of the city and the fish restaurants in Bebek. The staff are super efficient, smart and friendly. The breakfast buffet is huge, with a seemingly endless array of excellent local delicacies. There is simply nothing negative to say, perhaps the Four Seasons beds are fractionally more comfortable, but apart from that the Ciragan beats them in every other aspect.

Room Tip: Get a Bosphorus view
