Stayed here twice within a 2 week period as I was starting/ending private tour. Found the manager to be really friendly especially as he waived our first nights price as we had airline trouble and emailed to advise we would be checking in a day later. He was very kind to only charge us for the one night. Breakfast is included which is a nice simple breakfast. My husband and I stayed in a budget private room that was very small with no windows or fan but was cheap & clean so can't complain. Would recommend upgrading to a private room with an ensuite which we saw and liked but was out of our budget range. Wifi worked fine, bar area was a little small but atmosphere at hostel overall was good.

Perfect location in Sultanahnet, with many sights from the Old City at walking distance.

We stayed at a private room which is actually located on the next block. Very comfortable and recently refurbished. Absolutely great staff, very friendly and welcoming, gave us all the information on sightseeing, eating and nightlife.

There is a rooftop bar with great view to Aya Sophia, there is a happy hour everyday to have some beers and gather people interested in going out at night. Great atmosphere. Bear in mind that all relevant nightlife happens in Beyoglu, on the other side of the Golden Horn, but it is a 10 min taxi ride, maximum of 15 lira each ride (beware of dishonest taxi drivers driver n Istanbul, always set the price beforehand, hostel guys will also be glad to help you calling a cab). For us worked just perfect.

Would definitely stay there next time in Istanbul. Can't beat the cost-benefit of Cheers.

Cheers Hostel is more than just a place to stay. Of course, the rooms are clean, you won't have to wait for a shower, breakfast is provided, and it is economical. On top of exceeding at the basics, Cheers Hostel attracts a young and eclectic group of travelers, and there are plenty of opportunities to make friends. There is a bar on site with a picturesque view of the Ayasofya which is an awe inspiring ancient church/mosque. The staff are relaxed, lovable, and highly attentive to their guests. There is a patio area at the entrance where groups of travelers, locals, and hostel guys chat, drink coffee, smoke, and leisurely play backgammon. These guys are reliable, and they look out for their guests. The trip was FUN because of Cheers!

We travelled with another couple and booked 2 private double rooms in the adjacent building. Think it was approx £60 per night per couple. Our room looked onto the street and although had no air con (which we knew) it did have an electric fan tower which helped. Our friends room which had air con looked out onto an alley and did smell a bit of mold or mildew.
Rooms were ok, the usual for a hostel. Good base for all the sigths especially the old twon, and the roof top bar has an amazing view of the Hagia Sophia.
Tariq(?) the owner or manager was helpful and the staff in general were helpful. Breakfast was the same everyday but plenty of it and included in the price. Bread, cheese, olives, tomatoes and cold boiled eggs. The outside tables at the front were a nice place to eat breakfast.
Overall a good, cheap stay in the middle of Istanbul.

I really enjoyed staying at this hostel, it is located near everything you want to see and do. The staff is friendly and rooms are pleasant! I didn't want to leave. The rooftop bar allows for easy socializing at night and computers with free Internet is provided downstairs
