I remember this Gunaydin restaurant when it was a high quality, good service and good food operation. At the time it was indoors. Now it is huge and includes outdoors and I tried it for old times sake. It was a big mistake as it has gone down considerably on all measures.

- food is very average.
- service is ok, and waiters lack proper decorum and style. Instead they keep banging old plates and dishes ruining the atmosphere.
- our table was actually sticky and not clean. It was obvious that hygiene is no longer important and this is a big surprise for any major restaurant in Turkey.

Its clear that Gunaydin is just chasing the tourist dollars without maintaining the old style and quality. I am certain that I wont be back.

The food was good but o er priced , once we asked for the cheque the waiter asked for 10% as service charge and once I asked him is this a tip he told me no it is a service charge not a tip. This is not accepted and its just a tourist trap I don't recommend it there is a lot better places in galat port , and I wounder why there is no English speaking waiters while most of the customers are tourists .
This is very bad for such big brand.

We had dinner there in our last evening in Istanbul. The staff was in a huge rush and brought all 10 plates (for 4 people) , starters, salads and main courses at the same time, which was pretty overwelming. Before even finishing our meal the waiter told us we had to rush cause the restaurant would close in 20 minutes. And while we were still eating the waiter demanded we pay directly and told us again to finish as possible. Had this not been enough, after having paid and given our tip, a second waiter audaceously asked for even more tip despite the bad quality service. The food was nevertheless fair.

We have been going there for years and most of the times it was very good. Better than NUSRET.
Now they renovated and changed the place a bit but not for the best.
It is impersonal and has lost the character.
Also the menu has changed but for the worst.
I ordered Bon filet and received salad with little pieces of meat.
A waiter by mistake threw a glass of red wine on my white shirt and absolutely destroyed it and nobody said anything or acknowledged it.
On the contrary we paid even for the glass of wine they threw, and they also demanded tips for the staff. I wonder if there is a manager or what.
Don't go there.
