We booked Antioch Hotel which is across the street and we were referred to Hatay Hotel.
Pro:
*Good and strategic location to Aya Sophia, Blue Mosque, Yerebatan Sarayi, Museum of Archeology, Topkapi Sarayi, Small Aya Sophia, Grand Bazaar, very close to tram stops of Gulhane and Sirkeci that bring us everywhere in Istanbul and ferry port of Eminonu.
*Friendly and helpful hotel staff
*Basic, clean, small room for two which was fine for us as we explored Istanbul during the day, *Simple Turkish breakfast.
*Fruit shop in front of the hotel :-)
*Good free internet connection
Cons:
*We stayed in 2nd floor which was noisy. We think the higher floor will be much better. Ear plug is highly recommended.
*Small room with huge windows and light colored curtain makes the strong sun light entered our room, then eye mask will be necessary.

We would still recommend this hotel but choose the upper floor :-)

Room Tip: Upper floor

My partner and i had joined an intrepid tour, and stayed at the Hatay hotel the night before our trip commenced.
The rooms were basic, however they were clean. The showers - like most of the others we stayed at in Turkey - were leaking! The shower recess leaked heaps and we spent quite a bit of time trying to soak it up with the floor mats.
After our tour we returned to the Hatay hotel and stayed in a room that we had picked (not picked by Intrepid) and had a much better room. The room was huge, with a king bed, and a shower that didn't leak. Go for an upgraded room if possible.
Staff were friendly and the internet connection was usually okay in each room. Just the usual breakfast buffets, with lots of salads, cold meats, cheeses, and plenty of fruit.

Situated within walking distance to the harbour.

Room Tip: upgrade your room if possible

We visited Istanbul a week ago, 2 adults and 2 kids,we stayed at Antioch - Hatay hotel for 6 days. This hotel is an excellent choice if you want to be in the center. All the main sites to visit are 10 to 25 minutes on foot. If you wish to use public transport, to visit distant location, this hotel is 5 minutes from the tram station. Offering breakfast is very rich, everyone can find something to enjoy. All staff are extremely friendly and willing to meet the requirements of the customer. For a pleasant stay in Istanbul we heartily recommend this hotel.

I booked a room for a single person and it was quite small. If your solo on a budget this is a good choice, but book the double room if you can afford the small price upgrade. I saw the double rooms and should have booked that. The Location is great, an Elevator a plus, loved the Coffee Machine, you can get a Cappucino, or whatever you want. The rooms were okay, quite small as are all rooms in Old town. I was in Istanbul and saw several rooms in other hotels. I prefer the Kafkas which I moved to since their was no double room available here, and the rooms are bigger, which I need since I was staying 1 week, and loved it much more and 1 block away. This is good for a short stay, but not for a long stay.

Room Tip: Book a room for 2 if your a solo traveler unless your on a tight budget, the single rooms are good for backpackers.

The Hatay & Antioch Hotels were the best hotels in Sirkeci. We thoroughly enjoyed the great hospitality, spacious and luxurious rooms and a great spread of breakfast. The Managers, Cetin and Tekin Fakiroglu and the rest of the hotel team were absolutely so professional, friendly and courteous and gave us the best individual attention in ensuring that our every need was met with a smile.

The hotel was real value for money, especially in comparison with other hotels. It is located within walking distance to most places of interest in Sirkeci and within a 3 min walk to the tram, bus and underground train station. The street within which the hotels are located are very peaceful at night.

We booked another hotel nearby on bookings.com and was most disappointed with the shabbiness and it was definitely not according to our standards. Thank goodness we discovered the Antioch & Hatay hotels which was close by and decided to spend our 5 days with them. We enjoyed every moment at the Antioch & Hatay hotels and will definitely and highly recommend these hotels to tourists coming into Sirkeci. Our heartfelt thanks to Cetin and Tekin for everything. Keep up the great customer service and we wish you all the best for the future. If ever we return to Istanbul, we will definitely book into your hotel again. Room Tip: The Antioch & Hatay hotels are opposite each other but we preferred to use the Antioch because the rooms are more spacious. The Hatay hotel showers are actually great.
