Since we found a small break in our schedule and since it's close by and I've always wanted to visit Tintagel, we went ahead with a 1 night stay

1st things 1st.
The hotel is incredibly prepared and takes all possible measures in welcoming guests during the pandemic. Temp check by the security, Staff has their masks on at all times, sanitizer available and the place looked spotless

The rooms are spacious and they are equipped with antique furniture that adds to the grandeur of the venue. The art collection at Tintagel is 2nd to none and I think they are the largest collection at a single site.

Staff is incredible and friendly. Whenever my 3-year old had a request, they were very happy to accommodate with a happy face.

The food at Tintagel is AMAZING. We ad dinner and breakfast and everything we had was prepared to perfection. They tasted so good

Overall if you know the story behind the mansion and if you have the time, I would certainly recommend them.

Previously home to three main political leaders of the island, Paradise Road Tintagel Colombo is a hotel full of history and colonial charm. Located in an elite neighbourhood, in close proximity to many embassies and leading places of business, this is mostly preferred by corporate travelers. The hotel offers boutique-style rooms with complimentary Wi-Fi and cable TV. It also offers a steam room, fitness room, pool, alfresco restaurant and massages by appointment.

I can see why one of the other guests called it a Mini Raffles Hotel. The colonial building and the formal interiors evoke a similar vibe. But its much bolder. The living room/lobby is anchored by a life-size wooden horse from Jafna. An amazing piece of artwork. The contemporary paintings on the walls are intelligently integrated into the old world decor. The leather bound books inside the lovingly curated library are wonderful. A rare selection of books - from Forbidden Colors (a Japanese love story) to coffee table books on flamboyant Sri Lankan ballerinas. These are rare personal books of the owner and his willingness to share it with his guests is touching. I had lunch, dinner and breakfast in the hotel's Italian garden. The best was dinner - with the flicking candle lights and classical music. The Sri Lankan crab was good and service was smooth and efficient. It felt like staying at an old friend's home. A home where the staff look after you like a family member or a cherished friend of the owner. My zipper on my bag broke when I was checking out and the staff tried over 20min to fix it with gusto. Tropical Linen a gorgeous little store is next door. Very worth visiting. The other Paradise Road stores are a 10min tun-tuk ride away. DO NOT WALK. Its hot and sticky. Will definitely return for another stay.

Room tip: West Wing Suite comes with a beautiful balcony where you can watch the sunset.

Our first night in Sri Lanka was spent here and it was fantastic!
Colombo itself doesn’t have a huge amount to see - our TukTuk tour was a bit like being in traffic for an hour... but, this hotel is a great place for a first night straight off the plane.
The rooms are huge and ‘colonial’ style with massive beds.
The best thing by far though about this place is the restaurant. We had booked somewhere for dinner locally (flamingo) which was awful! So we came back and had a second dinner followed by a beautiful breakfast the morning after...

I booked my honeymoon through the travel agency Antilog vacations and we got a great deal almost 50% off in our package. The travel
agency had been recommended by one of my friends after her honeymoon and they
helped us select the resort in Colombo. The Paradise Road Tintagel located in the
Rosemead area of Colombo was booked as our stay there.
Having prior information the hotel authorities had booked the honeymoon suite
for us. My wife appreciated the gesture. Our room was decorated with red roses and the
bed was quiet comfortable too. The suite was accompanied with a plunge pool and a
large bath. The bottle of red wine was also a nice gift from the authorities.
While ordering for the food the staff helped us select perfect meal and on the last
day arranged for a candle lit dinner by the trees in the garden. The dinner by the minute
floating candle provided a memory that I would treasure for lifetime. The crew in general
was also quite non-fussy and helped us maintain our privacy. The housekeeping guys
were adept at their jobs and kept our room clean.
The travel desk at the reception was quite vibrant and arranged a tuk tuk for a trip to the
nearby places. My wife particularly liked the Galle Face Green, a famous sightseeing
spot in the vicinity. The Paradise Road bordering the resort is also littered with various
small shops for antiques and souvenirs. We had a great time in selecting the choicest
artifacts for our family. There was a large furniture shop down the road too which looked
quite popular from its crowd.
Thus the Tintagel Resort at the Paradise Road provided us with numerous memories
from the trip and the people really helped us feel at home. Thus we would suggest the
resort for a homely stay in Sri Lanka.
