After 3 weeks of budget hotels we spent 2 well deserved nights at the Dhavara Hotel. It was exactly what the doctor ordered (seriously I was very sick & just came from the doctors). The staff at check in were fabulous a little bit of a language barrier but we all got by.
The buildings architecture is a stunning French Colonial. It has an old French colonial feeling to the furniture and decor through out the whole hotel. There is even a cute boutique store off the lobby. I just loved it here! It did cost us about $100CAD a night (this was Dec 28th-29th). So this might have been holiday season pricing. There was also cheaper rooms. So it is a bit pricey but still much cheaper than getting a hotel like this back home.
We had a premier room. It was huge!!! Big comfy king size bed with amazing bedding and 4 pillows. There was so much room I didn’t no what to do with all the space. The bathroom had a huge bathtub, shower and did not have to fight to get hot water. Tv had English movies. Then seem to have everything; Shampoo, conditioner, body wash, blow dryer in each room, in-room safes, robes, well stocked mini fridge & snacks and so much more. Did I mention the old style feel but with all new stuff. There was no issues with the free wi-fi it worked...After 3 weeks of budget hotels we spent 2 well deserved nights at the Dhavara Hotel. Everyone at the hotel was amazing. So helpful and friendly. English was differently not even their second language. Google translator helped huge. Especially after they ask us to change it from Khmer to Thai.
The hotel is showing a little wear in some of the paint but that’s seriously the only concern and problem with this place.
The Restaurant was really good as well. We ate 2 dinner and 1 breakfast here. They took my food allergy very serious. Even the Chef would come out to follow up with the allergy. Dinner the first night was very quiet. They had a large menu (please see pictures). Prices ranged from 24,000KIP ($3.60CAD)- 180,000KIP ($27CAD). Which the 180,000KIP was for a fancy steak dinner. The menu is a big local, Thai and western. Dessert was excellent as well. Their home-made ice cream was incredible.
Dinner the second night was very busy that we asked to site on the patio. It was the perfect night to sit out there and best of all no bugs! Breakfast was very good. I only ate to crepes nothing fancy but they were delicious. Im not really a breakfast person.More
