The Buddha Park is a little unusual. While the images are of interest they lack the finer detail of Buddha’s elsewhere. The concrete in many is entering the early stages of decay. Still worth a look to enjoy men fighting giant crickets, enormous pumpkins and other strange imagery this could be the place for you. Climb into the pumpkin and then to the top for a view of the park. Be careful as the entry and exit holes are a tight fit. Plus the stairs are very narrow and steep. I know you have heard this before but truely the climb is a tight one so be careful. To make a half day trip go to the morning market in town first. Then head to the bus station next door. Catch the number 14 bus for 1000kip to Buddha Park. Then same bus home. Makes for an interesting package that isn’t expensive.

We actually really enjoyed Buddha park . Took a local bus which was 6000lak per person and dropped us off at gate . Bus 12 . Don't be caught out by the touts who wanted 200,000 for same trip saying bus was bad . It was just fine . Park takes 1.5 hours to go round sit and have a drink . Keep eye out for bus so your ready to leave when it returns . Lots of Buddha's and we enjoyed it from an artistic perspective. Some cool statues. Our 11 year old enjoyed exploring inside on of the monuments and taking in view from top. Enjoyable activity which filled a morning

Absolutely loved the park, some truly amazing sculptures and statues. The park is really big and you can spend sometime wandering around taking it all in. There are some you can climb up so the views are pretty amazing. Totally recommend this if you are in Vientiane!!

We took a private taxi to get to the park located at the outskirts of Vientiane, close to Thadeua village, some 25 km east of Vientiane.
The Xiengkuane Buddha Park was built in the year 1958 by the venerable Bounlua who emigrated to Thailand during the Communist occupation.
The main building at the entrance is the pumpkin tower that you can access by the interior; not far from it, is a 120m long reclining Buddha statue worshipped nowadays by the local Buddhist population. The park is full of many other strange statues of gods, demons, and animals, and it gives on the Mekong river. It was unfortunately very low when we visited it.

It was an interesting experience to see olden statues of different relics of Buddha. We climb up the building and the sight was truly refreshing.
