Had a very enjoyable stay here. The rooms are traditionally decorated, so if you're expecting Hilton or Raddison standards, this probably isn't for you. However, if pleasant staff and a homestyle hotel is your bag, then go here. It's clean and the staff are just lovely.

A charming, cool oasis on a back street in central Phnom Penh. A wall and tons of greenery protect the lobby and restaurant from the basic reality of an urban back street. The small swimming pool is a little too much part of the lobby to attract swimmers but it does add to the sense of coolness.

My room was exactly as advertised- king sized bed, sufficient room, and just enough natural light. At $50 night I was very satisfied. This is a small hotel and I was just fine walking a flight of stairs to get my floor.

Staff are exceptionally attentive.

Breakfast is individually prepared around several set breakfasts. I enjoyed the healthy breakfast one morning and the continental the second morning. Good strong coffee.

We were completely disappointed with this hotel. The room we had us consular deluxe room (i beg to differ). The room on entering smelt musty. It had a large patio door into a 2 foot wide patio area. You were then confronted by very high brick wall that let in virtually no day light. Consequently the room was dark, miserable and very uninviting. The swimming pool is more of a plunge pool, and the area just looked untidy. The food was goods d the staff were helpful. To us, this hotel felt more like a “backpackers” hotel. We would not stay here again.

Dear D7662GWsharonr,

Thank you very much for your precious time to write a review on our VMansion charming and relaxing boutique in Phnom Penh. We are a boutique hotel with 12 designed rooms in the middle of buzzing city which we can not have a bigger pool as a 50 or 100rooms hotels. Our management and staffs try all our best to well maintain the property, greenery the area and please to all guest who have a stay with us. About room, I am very sorry that it's smell.... but may not so musty as you mentioned, it could smell of humidity as now Cambodia is very hot and humid. Our room mate put also the burner of lemongrass to kill the smell each time after cleaning and before guest check in. After receiving the comment from your guide, we urgently fixed everything for you, calling over phone to apologize for this inconvenience and offer you also a complimentary dinner. We did hope this offer can calm down your unsatisfactory and showing our gesture after your feedback but we're of course receiving even a double review of one room shared where you and your friend stayed.
We really apologize that our boutique could not meet your expectation as a hotel standard, but neither a "backpackers" hotel.
Again, thank you for your feedback and we will learn your comment for our future business.

All the bests,

Thary & Team

To start with you can’t fault the staff; our room however is a different matter! As soon as we entered the ground floor room off of reception, the musty smell was overwhelming. The room was large, but very dark and dingy. The patio doors opened onto a stunning vista of the wall next door. 2 patio chairs were outside but when sat in, our knees grazed the wall (I’m 5’4”). Apparently there were no other rooms available to move us too. Extremely unhappy as we booked a twin, deluxe 14months ago. A karaoke party was started by the staff at 10pm. Seriously unimpressed.

Room tip: Avoid room Longkrek

Dear NeWilton,

It's very interesting to have chance reading your feedback of your stay. Thank you very much to share your wonderful time writing a review... that make us to know how to improve our property. The smell of room may happen sometime but could not be much musty. The patio is surely not as a terrace, it's for some people just want the sun light/ smoking or having a bit open space. We always well greet and host our guests as King and Queen, so we mostly upgrade them while we have any room available. Unfortunately, we did not have any twin room available to change during your stay. So our Sales manager called over phone to apologize after getting the feedback from your guide and try to please you as we can.
Your stay was the Khmer New Year season that is the biggest National festival in Cambodia, like the New Year Eves in Europe by December 31st. So every Cambodian was happy and enjoyed with family or group party. The Karaok party you mentioned was from our neighbor to celebrate the Khmer New Year, not from our staff. So sorry that was bother your sleep but it was surely out of our control. They enjoyed and share loved in their business area since 6pm and they pretty stopped by 10.30pm.
We wish you a lovely life and have you a wonderful time.

All the bests,

Thary & Team

Welcoming and peaceaful ambience from arrival to departure. We would definitely recommend this hotel to friends and family. All the staff were always busy at their jobs ensuring guests received a very good service. Stylish comfortable rooms with facilities in good condition and well maintained. A good range of breakfasts, prepared and presented very professionally. We only had 2 evening meals in the hotel as we like to explore other venues, however these were to the same standard as the breakfasts. We used the hotel tuktuk service extensively for our long range trips and airport return and found the driver to be safe, reliable and helpful in this very busy city. We used the pool a lot after our city walks and found the small bar pleasant for an early drink.
We stayed here 2 weeks and this seemed to be longer than most guests do, however we enjoyed every minute.
The internet service was excellent.

Room tip: We did not feel the need to ask for a change, however our room had a harder bed than some guests may like.
