we had a 2 night stay in Nov '17, durig the river festival. The location was a great intoduction to Cambodia - grooty local market on one side, questionable nightclub opposite & right on the river, however our 3rd floor balcony room looked into the trees on the street, which blocked the river view. I agree with others, that the rooms are very dated, & the bathrooms dark & shower problematic. However this was offset by a great pool at the back of reception & a roof top bar looking over both the city & river. Take note of the grotty mat at the entrance - like something my mother gave me in the 90's & hasnt been washed since!!

Room Tip: ask for room above 3rd floor toget a river view

Dear Doug, many thanks for taking the time to write a review concerning your stay at the Ohana Phnom Penh Palace Hotel, it is very much appreciated. We acknowledge your comment regarding the rooms being 'very dated' and we are currently in the process of upgrading them. We are pleased to hear you enjoyed the ground floor pool and our roof-top restaurant, skybar and plunge pools which offer expansive views of the rivers and cityscape. As for the 'grotty mat' you mention, entrance mats are a temporary feature, used only when it is raining, and when it rains yes, the mats do get dirty very quickly with the foot-fall of guests coming in from the wet streets.

This hotel is in a great location but the rooms are very dated.
The bathroom is pretty poor with a shower in the bath and a dodgy shower curtain and a shower head that can’t deal with the water pressure ! It all needs refurbishing .
The power sockets are in the wrong place and the furniture all looks so old .
It’s not particularly cheap so for the money there’s better places to stay close by.
The beds are comfortable though on the positive side.

The hotel is in a perfect location, breakfast was fantastic and our room (616) was excellent corner spot with balcony on one side and ceiling to floor window on another.

Breakfast in particular was a bonus feature. It was served on the 7th floor with fantastic city views.

The only reason this has four stars is there was a strong eggy smell in some rooms on our floor which was so strong it kept me awake. It may have been coming from the air conditioning. I could smell it by the pool too. We complained and the smell disappeared for the second night so they did act promptly on feedback.

I would stay here again and recommend to friends.

It doesn’t look that great from outside but the reception was good and to our disbelief all the features you want in your stay worked. Air conditioning great WiFi brilliant shower amazing kettle with adequate coffee and tea the bed very comfortable and no noise everything you need and expect for a great nights sleep. Well done

It is a good hotel with all the amenities available. The location is at the heart of the city. The breakfast is at per all the standard continental food. But foods are really delicious. The view from the hotel rooftop is excellent.
