Description: Open Monday to Sunday from 11am to 11pm (kitchen closes 10pm) Romdeng is set in a beautiful colonial building whose wooden carvings, tables, chairs and unique lights were all hand made in Cambodia. The silk goods and cushions adorning Romdeng were made by our students in sewing training at Mith Samlanh and its walls are hung with beautiful paintings produced by young people from the art classes there. All of this plus a pool, free WIFI, a family area and a gift shop mean a visit to Romdeng is a must.

My friend & I had lunch there twice since we enjoyed it so much the first time & I wanted to try the crispy tarantulas! The setting in the outdoor garden is lovely & cool in the heat of Phnom Penh, the service is courteous & efficient. We tried the grilled fish, a vegetarian curry & the bean salad. All were delicious, as was the lime pepper ice-cream. The tarantulas tasted a little like crab & are worth trying.

We arrived in time for their happy hour, which was buy one cocktail get one free. We were a little confused when we could only get another cocktail of the one we ordered for free, not a different cocktail. We had a passion fruit prosecco drink and it was delicious!

We ordered the chicken curry, a vegetarian salad with mushroom spring rolls, and pork belly with fried morning glory. The pork belly dish was nice, as was the salad. The curry had a nice flavour but had very minimal chicken. We didn't leave overly full or impressed, but the food was nice enough and was fresh.

The nice setting and the cause make it worth dining here and trying a few things, however.

Thank Ellie M

We did not try the tarantulas or ask if they were in season but the food I would eat was incredible. Our tuk tuk driver recommended and it was busy which is always a good sign.

This restaurant is set in a beautiful garden overlooking a pool. We avoided the fried insects but otherwise went with their reccomendations and were not disappointed. The food was really fresh, fragrant and full of flavour. They gave us one free beer and it's really admirable that they support local causes within their business.
