The night market is good to experience. A trnage of fresh produce is availabel as is some street food - if you are game.

After spending several days at a conference, it was nice to be able to just walk around in such a casual setting and take in the local nightlife. Brunei is a dry (i.e. alcohol-free) country, so don't expect much else to do at night besides eating. This is pretty much where everyone goes at night when they can't sleep. Plenty of food choices -we liked the chicken behind, twisted fried potatoes and pretty much any cold drink we tried.
Such a great variety of local market food. So interesting to walk around and see all the food. Quite a mission selecting what to eat as there is so much. Everything is really good.
These markets are about a 2-5 minute walk from The Mall shopping centre right next door to the fish market, be prepared for some funky smells coming from
You can catch the bus here but the buses stop running at 6pm so you need to have a plan to get back as even the locals did not know how to get a taxi.
We have been to several different markets around southeast asia and we had a fair idea of what to expect, however these far exceeded them. The people were wonderfully friendly and were happy to let us try their food when we asked questions on what things were and what they did with them etc.
For us the stand out was the food, OMG!! We did not have a bad meal all night, some were better then others but all in all great and the price wow cheap.
As items were so cheap some things we did not know what they were but we still brought them just to try.
