Arriving in Hue after a four hour ride from Hoi An I hopped on one of the many motorcycle taxis which surrounded our bus when it arrived. The driver passed the hotel twice before we found it - it's down an alley and while there is a sign on the main street it's not particularly prominent.
Having "splurged" for a $25 river view - and by the way the river you see is NOT the Perfume but a tributary, but - hey! - it's still water - I was directed to my fifth floor room which was large, had a great double bed, TV and good shower.
My three night stay was a tad eerie in that I only saw one other guest at breakfast the whole time I was there. Eggs are cooked to order at breakfast.
You're a five minute walk from Le Loi - the main drag - and there are plenty of shops and restaurants in the neighborhood. The staff was particularly pleasant and efficient. They arranged a motorcycle tour - and by the way motorcycle tours are the BEST way to see Vietnam - for me to the tombs of the Emperors and The Citadel. The driver showed up on time, was knowledgeable and careful. They also picked up a train ticket to Hanoi for me at a charge of 10% of the ticket price which worked out to be about what it would cost me for a moto taxi to the station and back.
All in all a very pleasant stay.

The Vina was centrally located and close to lots of good restaurants, shopping and sights. the rooms were clean and comfy but we were very disappointed in the "river view" which was 90% roofs 9% trees and one little glimpse of water. The mini bar was not replenished daily and when we asked for a couple of beers they were delivered to the room hot. Contrary to other reviewers we found the staff indifferent not too interested in us or recommending their own services. breakfast was very ordinary.

Clean good size rooms & bathrooms. Has obviously had damp problems in the past so don't get a room above the 4th floor. We booked 2 deluxe rooms and ended up with 2 Riverside Suites.OK location.Staff always seemed a little confused and not on the ball. Very average American breakfast, Egg lady produced good omelettes & eggs.though..Paid £35 for 2 rooms p.n. via Agoda so fairly good value.

Room Tip: Don't get a room above the 4th floor.

The hotel is really nice and great value for money. The staff were really helpful and sorted out trips for us. The Hotel is located just off the main road which means it's nice and quiet at night. Our room had a picture window over looking the river which was brilliant.
The breakfast was simple but very nice.

This Hotel needs an upgrade, but I can't say enough about how helpful the staff have been. If I was to make one suggestion for improvement it relates to the breakfast. There is no variety unless the hotel is full with tour parties. Then this means there is not much food left to eat. For example, baguettes woud be nice but they were all gone by 7.30 and no more to be seen. Now 7.30 is fairly early and I would expect to have got one at that time. But no ! So if you are expecting a decent breakfast then go out! But if you are happy with bread, cheese and omlettes then it is OK. This is not 5 star but it is an OK place to stay and Mr Longlife is an asset to the owners as he is very very customer focused.

Room Tip: If you want good WiFi stay near the lifts
