For things to see & do in SIAGON. Check it out. It’s a part of the history for this thriving city. It played an important part in the local/country history. Good 1-2hrs.

Interesting to visit. Allow about 2 hours to go through the entire palace. Kids loved the bunker area.

You feel you are taking part by visiting this place. It is very well kept and there are great details around about what happened here.

I visited the Palace with a friend of mine while i was on a recent business trip to Vietnam. She rented the headset for me with audio in English and she had a map (i don’t think the one she had was in English) but we had a lot of trouble matching up the audio with the room descriptions because there are no numbers or signs outside the individual rooms or displayed items to let you know which button to push on the audio. We got confused more than once. The audio has TONS of information for each stop in the Palace, so much so that I didn’t listen to most of it. And I’m a big history buff.

All in all, it’s worth it because it tells a story about a time not so long ago of the American War (the Vietnam War to we Americans). There is evidence of the storming of the Palace by the Viet Cong, tanks out front on display, and a war era helicopter on a (third ?) floor roof that you can clearly see from one of the windows on that floor. It’s a beautiful Palace and so full of information that you could probably spend a day there and still not get it all.
