“Solid choice in HCMC”

Excellent breakfast, heaps of food options, even better than some of lunch buffet from other hotels in Asia (in my opinion).

Central location, right next to the opera house.

The only thing is the massage room is next to the gym so it's not a very quiet and peaceful experience.

The room is a bit tired but is still clean.

It took a while for them to get my internet up and running, but the service was solid and personable.

Excellent hotel, great location, great rooms, great service*. Stocked with everything you need. I am a picky traveler. Room has to be just right. Not sure about the previous posters. Maybe they updated some of the rooms. Pool area is great. I would avoid the spa.

Only two complaints-

the elevator was a total pain. Slow, small, in one location. At times my wait was 10 minutes or more.

The massage/spa
I scheduled a series of massages and a facial. Massages are not that good and actually kind of weird. Perhaps in Vietnam they do things differently. Not too crazy about having massage therapist insist I completely strip naked for a massage. Did not like that the massage therapist actually got on top of me during the session. Requests to avoid certain areas was ignored.

Facial was amateurish.

Don't bother with the foot massage. I booked it thinking they would do this after my regular massage in the same private room. They moved me to a "public area" near the pool. Chair was very uncomfortable and I was unable to relax. Noise from the pool and an employee eating and having a conversation in the same room made it unbearable.

Couldnt fault this hotel , the location was great right next to the opera house and in district 1.
The rooms were really classy and clean and fresh just what you expect from a 5 star hotel.
There is an outdoor swimming pool on 7th floor which also had a gym and jacuzzi / sauna etc, and on the 1st floor a casino which was machines of $2c each.
The break fast was varied and you had everything from sushi to noodles and dim sum to cereal toast and a fry up not mentioning the wide range of pastries. The staff were very friendly and helpful and we managed to get a late booking until 2pm for free which was very nice of them as our flight wasnt until very late in the day so managed to use the pool area and showers as late as we could which was around 6pm in the end. Weather very hot compared to the Hanoi.

Room Tip: We had a river view on floor 12 , as this is a city the river view was somewhat blocked by other hot...

This iconic hotel lived up to its reputation for us. The room was a decent size for a city central hotel, the bathroom was clean, included a tub and was well stocked with robes, towels, shampoos, shower gels, bath salts, toothbrushes, shoe mitts etc. Breakfast was an enormous buffet along with with fresh omelette/egg station - the display was kept well stocked and fresh. Sitting overlooking the city in the al fresco Saigon Saigon bar was a highlight of our trip - memorable if a little pricey. Recommended

I agree with the previous reviewer who said that particularly the bathrooms only were three-star, although I might stretch to four-star. Otherwise a good experience. Helpful staff. Perfect location in the centre of the city. The most impressive part is the breakfast. A very wide and truly excellent selection of food.
