Despite being out in district 3 we ended up enjoying our time in a different area seeming to be the only westerners whenever we went out exploring. Short and cheap taxis into district 1 were never a problem and the service from Natasha and her team was exceptional. I will return on next visit to HCMC. Colin & Jan (Scotland & Holland)

Very well decorated boutique hotel. Nice breakfasts and lots of it. If you tire easily get a lower level room as there is no lift. Can be a bit tricky to find as is down an alleyway but we managed fine and I quite like seeing what is down the alleyways anyway! there a plus points and minus points about the location. Plus is that you see an area of Saigon you would otherwise miss but minus is that it takes a little while if traffic is bad by taxi and it is too far to walk really even if you want too. We always managed to get a cab though so I wouldn't let it put you off especially if you want a lovely room to escape back to after exploring the city. Room had a nice little balcony too. Some times the English spoken wasn't that great but we managed. A few more hints and tips would have been good too, didn't find the staff as helpful as other places we stayed. Not normally an issue but considering the price we paid I would have expected better. Finally there is no bar but there is a fridge stocked with beer and soft drinks. If there was a more permanent and helpful front of house then I think this would improve the service and value for money.

The receptionist (or owner) was so lovely, providing us with fruits and fresh juice whenever we desired. The hotel rooms were very nice and clean with a great french feel. The location was slightly inconvenient but was a fairly short cab ride to all the main sights and district one so it wasn't a huge issue or expense.
The breakfast was amazing, one of the best bowls of Pho I had in Saigon (and I ate a lot of Pho from a lot of places)
Thank you for a great stay!

We had a lovely four day stay at Ma Maison and really enjoyed the hotel. The staff are very attentive, translating addresses into Vietnamese for us and ordering taxis each time we wanted to go out. They even lent us some dong until we could get to the currency exchange. This hotel is tucked away down a back street in district 3, where we were told a lot of Ho Chi Minh locals live. The lane way looks a bit ominous at night but that is only because it is not in the touristy area and people are actually going about their day to day lives. Our room was quiet and a welcome break from the craziness of the city roads. The breakfast each morning was delicious and varied, the decor had more character than many of the big international hotel chains we visited.
Our only issue was really the location, You do have to get a taxi in to district 1 for all the good restaurants and tourist sites- with HCMC traffic is takes about 20 mins but does only cost $4-5 USD. I think it would be more convenient to be located in the central area, especially if you are only staying for a few days. Loved the feel of district 3 though so we were happy anyway! Thanks Ma Maison!

What a find this Hotel was. If you're prepared to jump in a taxi for a short ride to the main tourist area you will love this hotel. It is tucked away down a small alley which has you worried for a second but once you're at the hotel it is perfect.

All the staff are super friendly and could not do enough for you no matter what time of day it was. Breakfast was awesome every time and the food just kept coming. You MUST try their Pho Bo it was the best I've had on this trip. The Park Hyatt's was not as good as Ma Maison's.

The hotel is super clean and the rooms are just perfect, we even got rose petals on our bed EVERY NIGHT in the shape of a heart.
