We stayed here for three nights when returning back to Sai gon from Mui ne. The hotel was very clean and simple. Breakfast was not so good. The location was OK took taxis to most everything we wanted to see as walking in the 45 degree temps and sunshine was too much for us to do often. We had to ask for a safe in our room but once we asked they brought one up immediately. There was a small fridge. Huge jacuzzi bathtub, no shower but you could use the telephone shower head. The bed was very hard, even for vietnam. The wifi worked very well and was included in the price. Overall it was good value for the price. We stayed at the Grand the first night and that place was amazing but four times the price. if you are doing a lot of sightseeing and just need a clean, simple place to sleep, the Sophie is a good choice.

The Silverland hotel just next store had an amazing spa. A jacuzzi tub, sauna, shower, etc all part of the experience. Very close to western standards, super clean, professional and not your seedy happy-ending kind of place. Ask for Rosie she was an excellent Massage therapist and one of the most professional ones I had in Vietnam. It was so good my boyfriend and I had three massages here over the course of our stay. Spa was excellent value for the money. We ate at a good Japanese resto within walking distance and the Irish pub around the corner (we were needing a break from Vietnamese food for a bit.)

i was suppose to be in another hotel but i was relocated there without too much explanation, it happens often in Viet Nam as they overbook their hotels. This hotel is well situated in the district one where the main action is and easy to walking distance. the staff are polite no more, their english is somewhat limited. The hotel doorman are indifferent and not to much clientele oriented. Unfortunately for an unknown reason they refuse to one of my vietnamese friend to contact me or to let him inside the hotel, i tried to get an explanation, all they did was smiling and said nothing? The room was clean, quite,no shower but a big jaccuzi bath where you have to stand and try to shower with the telephone shower...overall for 1 or 2 days it was fine but if you are looking for longer stay i am sure you can find something way better.

Sophia Hotel is a very good value hotel, located centrally in Saigon. Decor is a mix of the orient and eastern Europe, just as Vietnam itself is, some travellers may find this offputting, but for me it added to the experience. It is very clean and efficient. The wifi works very well and is remarkably fast. Staff are very friendly and happy to accomodate your requests, especially the door staff. Breakfast is excellent for a budget hotel. At the weekends the immidiate area fills with Japanese males, but more European restaurants and nightlife is only a short walk away. Hotel guests are very mixed, although at weekends a greater proportion of Japanese males come into the mix.

Room tip: My room had an opaque window, so I am not sure what sort of a view I had, but for a budget hotel I'm not complaining.
