This is quite the place. There is only a small portion of the original prison left and it is surrounded by high rises but that does not detract from what this was. It is hard to believe that a culture supposedly as advanced as the French could treat people as inhumanely as they did "only" 50-60 years ago. It would appear that the Vietnamese treated their American prisoners significantly better 20 years later. All-in-all, a very emotional journey one takes through these remaining buildings.
