...but the older, ancient collections are presented mostly without context in a fairly pedestrian manner. Some beautiful sculptures admittedly but However, as mentioned in the title, the more recent stuff is wonderful and very interesting. Quite a few of the less propaganda-ish paintings are just beautiful! And lots of the folk exhibitions are really good too: the models of traditional homes in particular. And it only costs about £1.30 to go in!

Amazing collection of art in an amazing space. Covers ancient to modern art. Very easy to get lost in and spend hours going up and down. One of the best museum experiences I've ever had.

Spanning three floors and two buildings, it's worth the entrance fee! There are numerous art styles being showcased and by the end of the visit you'll have fallen in love with Vietnamese lacquer art

Housed in an old colonial building, layed out over 3 floors is an excellent display, of Vietnams architecture, paintings, sculpture and some superb lacquer paintings, we enjoyed our visit, but take a sweater with you as some of the rooms are quite cold.
