Good hotel with great service

5.0 of 5 bubblesReviewed 11 May 2019via mobile
Stayed here our first night in Hanoi & found good first impressions, we ventured out of hanoi for a couple days, decided to stay out an extra day they moved our reservation at no cost or problem. We came back for another night & they had even upgraded our room, also at a cost of $0.00. Service was fantastic as to where we didn't have to lift a finger. Fabulous little hotel at good prices!

The hotel is situated right in the heart of the Old Quarter, so perfect for wandering out and about as well as being picked up by the local guides for tours.

For the small price paid, the room is simple but clean, air conditioned, and it includes a cooked breakfast, and brilliant service - such as a detailed intro to the city when we first checked in, and offering to book us our taxi to the airport and even cooking us breakfast to take with us (as it was a very early flight) with no fuss at all. Every single member of staff was excellent and went out of their way to help us, in particular Anna and Mia we probably dealt with the most. Thank you!

I stayed here for four nights, the hotel is nestled right in the middle of the old quarter so as soon as you walk out of the door you are right into the hustle and bustle of the day to day activities of the markets and street restaurants which abound in this area
Whilst the hotel is a budget hotel the rooms were clean and comfortable and surprisingly quite considering where we were.
but the real winner for me were the staff, everyone from the porters to the reception and management were fantastic will stay here again.

The staff were great, getting in touch when we booked asking if we would like them to arrange a transfer from airport/train station and for a price lower than we would have negotiated using a local taxi.
The staff at the front desk were always friendly & helpful and I'm sure if we had any problems they would have done their best to help. Helen was especially hard working & professional :)
The location is great, the Citadel within walking distance and lots of bars and restaurants very close by but not so much noise that you can't sleep.
The hotel itself is a little dated, which includes the bathroom but it was perfectly adequate.
Staff had great tips and recommendations on what sites to visit and a tour package can be booked through the hotel as well

Older but clean hotel, friendly and helpful staff, nice lobby and breakfast area. They provided juice on arrival during check-in. Good free breakfast (6:30-10am) with choice of main dish (several egg dishes, french toast, rice / noodle, etc), fruit, juice, and coffee, so easy to have full breakfast. Hotel offers travel tours, laundry, money changing, etc.

Excellent location in bustling Old Quarter area, surrounded by markets, shops, and restaurants. About 10-15 minute walk south from Long Bien bus stop where we exited Route 86 bus from Airport (35k d each way, every 20 minutes, easy and excellent orange bus transport to / from airport).

Our standard double was average size, queen bed with decent mattress and comforter, large bathroom, hot water in shower (bath tub) and sink, A/C vent was a bit noisy, cable tv with international channels, elevator, good wifi, soap / shampoo / toothbrush / cotton buds, small portable closet, refrigerator, very small safe that computer won’t fit in, chair, 2 night tables and desk, coffee pot, 2 complimentary small water bottles per day, refreshments in fridge for purchase, daily room service with towel change.

Our room window blocked by adjacent building, so never receives natural light. Room was very damp with poor ventilation, with stale and almost musty air. Sheets and pillow case were damp when we arrived, and all of our clothes were damp when we left. Best to run A/C cool all of the time to help freshen air. As this was our most expensive accommodation during 3 week Vietnam visit, the very damp room was unpleasant and disappointing.

Average wall soundproofing so we heard occasional hotel noise, but our interior room could not hear traffic noise and barely heard nearby night bar music. Helpful staff quickly replaced TV that died on our first night, and allowed us use of lobby and WC after check-out while waiting for red eye flight.

We visited at end of rainy season, but damp room was major negative. Otherwise this hotel was good for our 3 day stay as we visited several sights around Old Quarter. Recommend against getting standard double with “blocked” window, especially during wet season, and we would look elsewhere for our next Hanoi visit.

Room tip: Avoid rooms with blocked windows

My first trip to Vietnam was well organized by Holiday Hanoi Diamond Hotel. Halong Bay tour was utterly mesmerizing. Alas, I could only spend 3 days in Vietnam....

Alice helped and advised me through the entire tour and even before my hotel booking. I did not feel that I was in an unknown country :)
They arranged airport cab pick-up and drop even though it was quite late at night.
For pick-up, even the driver had to wait for more than an hour or so, as my on arrival VISA processing took a long time. Thanking hotel for that.
Awesome complimentary breakfast and I loved Vietnamese food..:)

Will be back to Vietnam soon for at least a week trip....
