We enjoyed our stay, but I cant say that I was blown away as some of the reviews I have read here. Perhaps it was because they switched us to a double bed intstead of a twin ( I had to share a bed with my cousin) or the fact that they will help with anything because they get paid a fee on all deals struck. All in all the hotel is not that bad and very central to the old city.

Room Tip: Rooms facing the back are quieter

A lovely display of Hanoi all within this little hotel! Amazing staff! They were able to arrange flights for us last minute and offer helpful information about Vienam. Extremely gracious and helpful!! Finding places like this allows the weary traveler to recharge!

Just stayed there 15 to 17th dec, 2011. They were really of service. The room was really confortable and clean. The location of the hotel in the old city was truly convenient. Definate go again place. Everone who works there seems happy they are smiley.

Room Tip: Room 801 was larger than our friends who were in room 602.

We had a wonderful time staying at Sans Souci II which I booked under the name Hanoi Gecko Hotel. The rooms were lovely, clean and very spacious. The staff were just great, so friendly and helpful. We had booked the airport transfer which was very good. The trip to the perfume pagoda we booked through the hotel was also very enjoyable and the local restaurant (New Day) they recommended was a great find.
We used Sans Souci II as a base while going to Sapa and Halong Bay and each time they provided us with rooms free of charge to freshen up and get ready for the next stage of our trip and we could leave our excess baggage there too. Where do you get all that?
The staff were extremely helpful when I needed to change my malaria tablets as I was having too many side effects.
It was such a lovely experience staying at Sans Souci II I can only recommend it.
Oh by the way, their 3 days 2 nights cruise at Halong Bay with their boat is really nice. We all had a great time and were so glad we had changed from 1 night to 2nights. You get to see so much more and it is so relaxing to have a whole travel free day at Halong Bay.

This hotel is just off a busy road in a small lane that gives you a great night sleep.
Staff go out of their way to assist in any thing and everything. We booked direct with the hotel, they organised a car pick up from the airport for $18 which is good value. The hotel also books side trips or events for you if you like. We stayed in a street side room with double bed and a single bed and we suggest travellers try to get one of these rooms.
Our hot water died the first night (out of 5) we stayed and they gave us the option to change rooms or use another room to shower, we picked the last option. The hot water was fixed the next day. This also gave us a look at the rooms that are down the back of the hotel. These rooms were much smaller and did not have anywhere near as much light. A basic breakfast is included in the very low cost of $35 per night, with option to upgrade to a more substantial offering.
Good WIFI in the room with laptop provided if required (we bring our own) and also desk top computers in the foyer. All up, a place worth staying in the middle of where it all happens in Hanoi. Happy travels

Room Tip: Select a street side front of the hotel room. They are bigger, and have good light.
