What a hidden gem this is. It's tucked away in the narrow back streets where vehicles can only go in one direction at a time. The place is beautiful, so much like a Japanese garden. The only problem is that it's so enclosed it can get very hot and sweaty, even outdoors due to the lack of open airflow. The food and service were great, even as a very large group. It's not cheap though, but hey, worth the experience.

We came as a big group after being recommended to visit this place by SIA. As there are not much review in TA aside from the wedding events, I was not sure of what to expect.

To get to this place, do not follow Google Map. It will lead you to a dead end. The locals knows their way in bests and a call to the restaurant might be needed.

This place is gorgeous! I love the garden and the dining area we were in were built on a pond. I suppose as there are not many people who dines here, we get the whole place to ourselves.

The service is great, though they are a little wobbly on the drinks. Spilled our drinks on two occasions while serving. The food was good too and they had a wide range of food. But for that price in Hanoi, you might want to explore just in Old Quarters. I chose this place for it's exclusivity.

They serve vegetarian food, but you need to make sure to let them know that you do not want egg with it as they served ours with egg.

Overall, I would come back again if I hold the same type of event with a big group of people but I most probably will not come back here if I am travelling alone.

My son recently got a his wedding reception in this hidden oasis
The food was great and the ambience fantastic
A perfect place for an outdoor wedding with the gardens and ponds to give it that special Vietnamese setting
I was shocked to find such a beautiful place amidst the noise and crooked streets filled with motorcycles!

My Vietnamese wife and I held our wedding ceremony & reception here in October. The location is a little removed from the bustle of Ha Noi and the garden setting is exquisite. We had 110 people attend and although the weather was hot (not Soft Water's fault) the entire evening was first class.

The menu was negotiable the Soft Water people very amenable to making sure we had what we wanted. On the evening I heard nothing but great reports about the food...quality and quantity.

The decor for the wedding was simple yet stylish and complemented the garden setting well.

The willingness of the Soft Water staff to work with us to make our day special was much appreciated. Special thanks to Ms. Tam for all of her help.

Overall this is great function venue and I would recommend even dining there to experience the unique setting and relaxing atmosphere.

I was born in Vietnam but have been living in the States for 13 years. For my wedding, I wanted it to be in my hometown, Hanoi, and struggled to find a beautiful outdoor venue. And luckily I came across Soft Water. Not only the decor of the restaurant and the garden was spectacular, the food was excellent (and I am super picky with food, and even more so with Vietnamese food). I initially did not like the menus they offered but they gladly accepted my requests for specific dishes and made them exceptionally well. Also, the manager, Ms. Soh was very attentive and caring; she catered to our every need for the event to go well. She even gave us two banana trees from her own garden to decorate the entrance of the restaurant (as my wedding was a traditional South Indian one, banana trees were one of the required components). She also let me change in her house as I needed to wear multiple outfits for the wedding. My best friend, who attended my wedding, loved the place so much, she ate up the deposit cost at another venue and moved her wedding in May to Soft Water. She also told me that her wedding went really well and loved Ms. Soh's service.

I would have to say that if you are looking for an intimate, romantic venue for your wedding that is outdoor and care a lot about service, Soft Water would be your best choice. The alley leading to where the restaurant is seems small but I had no problem having small buses transporting my guests to the event.
