I was told that its a very old hotel which got renovated recently (& got converted from Novotel to Mercure). I was there in sep 2012 & some Renovation & maintainence works were going on in their swimming pool, they requested me to use the pool of an adjacent hotel (nice gesture though) when I wanted to use the pool, I was a bit dissappointed as every thing I expected from a brand like Mercure wasnt there due to some reasons, the wifi was not worki6ng & there was a strange smell in the hotel. good part was that they have a shuttle service to the main road & back . I booked this hotel for only a day & I checked out the next day as per my booking.

I had a great experience with Mercure Pattaya. The staff working there were very friendly. The hotel rooms were good. The breakfast provided is the best. The receptionists were very helpful in guiding a tour around pattaya.

By Pattaya standards a pretty good hotel. Little evidence of the "seedy characters" that inhabit most of the bars in Pattaya. We stayed in the family room but should have taken an adjoining room. Breakfast really quite good and great deal for families with children under 12. Seafood dinner buffet better than most at hotels but of course freshest seafood is generally not found at hotel buffets. However, wine list while modest was reasonably priced - unlike most Thai hotels (good feature of the Accor Group) - and some of the staff provided outstanding service. Swimming pool also great. In general a great place to do next to nothing and chill out.
