Long, medium busy beach away from the center. Sea not inviting and overall a disappointment. Nothing tropical and no need to go back. Hope for better beaches down South soon.

Jomtien Beach is just connected with the Beach Rd, you can just easily reach here by any transportation or by walk too if you're staying nearby, there got a lot waterspouts to do in that beach. i snorkel around and then went out after sometimes. they should maintain it for tourist.

The beach is what you would expect.

During the past couple of years the authorities have prevented the deck chair operators to open on Wednesdays, which makes no sense. Additionally, the area of seating has been reduced and chairs and loungers are packed together very closely. Prices are reasonable.

Food can be ordered at your chair and, again, this very reasonably priced. In the next few months, alcohol sales on the beach will be banned, as will smoking. This is a good move as the foreigners can be an embarrassment as they abuse both facilities.

The sea is cleaner than it once was and the whole area is being given a facelift.

Locals pass by selling food and trinkets as well as massages and pedicures. The massages are respectable and there is no sexual element. Remember that these locals are trying to make a living and many have been there for years.

Jomtien beach is located just a few kilometres south of Pattaya and within 10-minute driving distance from the bustling city centre. Nestled within its own wide bay with a six-kilometre stretch of sandy beach, Jomtien is the perfect choice for tourists who seek a quieter and more relaxed alternative to Pattaya’s traffic and noise but don’t want to miss out on the city’s nightlife and other amenities.

Since the late 1990s, long after Pattaya had emerged as one of the region’s premier beach resorts, Jomtien has become increasingly popular not only with family vacationers and weekend tourists from Bangkok, but also “traditional” Pattaya visitors who like to party just as much as chill out after a night on the town.

Jomtien’s bonus is that it provides all the features of a relaxed beach holiday in a less “touristy” and quieter environment, but within immediate vicinity of South Pattaya and Walking Street, which can easily be reached by “Baht bus”.

Although Jomtien doesn’t quite resemble either what travelers may expect from a tropical beach, Jomtien provides a much more relaxed environment for swimming, sunbathing, and enjoying a multitude of beach activities, than Pattaya’s crowded and noisy main beach.

Jomtien’s major attraction, however, has always been its six-kilometer stretch of sandy beach. Despite excess supply of noise-polluting jet skis and motorboats, a disproportional number of beach vendors, and the fact that the water is often not as clean as desirable, Jomtien is still a perfect destination for a relaxed day on the beach.

Get here by baht bus and take a walk along the footpaths and take in the sights and different faces. Massages can be had on the beach under large shaded trees.
You can rent a beach chair and order drinks and food go for a swim. The water was not clean when I went it was full of rubbish.
