On arrival at the Grand hotel we were welcomed with the biggest, noisiest, overbearing Indian wedding that took over the entire hotel and pool area, and this went on for 3 days! We thought we had arrived in the wrong country! The noise in our room which was on the 19th floor was unbearable and went right through your head. This noise went on until 11pm at night- and the paying guests were expected to just grin & bear it! We were given a letter on check-in advising guests about the wedding, but that was toooo late! An email should have been sent to guests before check in so that you had the option to change hotels, if you wanted to. There are 3 hotels at the Royal Cliff to choose from after all. The service in this hotel is just terrible, from bell boys, to reception, to breakfast, to round the pools. You get better service at 3* hotels! The reception staff appear to have young trainees who cannot speak or understand English properly. We waited 40 minutes for juice and eggs one morning, only to be told they could not make "eggs Benedict" - was there perhaps even a chef at breakfast that day? The drinks are warm (beer & wine) at the sunset bar. It's a lovely location but with no atmosphere and no-one having any drinks. The housekeeping staff were very helpful and friendly. Management are invisible, you would expect to see many managers in and around the hotel checking on staff and guests, but they were noticeably absent. You could however find a long row of staff all day all just standing behind the check in counters. Extremely disappointed in this hotel. We have been to the Wing twice before and that is where we will return to in November, where nothing is an effort and absolutely everything just works. I'm sorry we went to the Grand, but we wanted to experience another hotel - but to our detriment!

Dear Valued Guest,

First of all, I would like to thank you for taking the time to provide the feedback of your recent stay at Royal Cliff Grand Hotel. It is only through feedback such as yours that we are able to maintain and improve upon the service that we provide to our valued guests.
I am very disappointed to read of your experience during your stay with us. Whilst an apology will regrettably not change the outcome of your experience on this occasion, I do extend it with sincerity. I understand the points you mentioned in your review especially the noise disturbances from the wedding party.

I would also like to apologize for the shortfalls in the service that you experienced and would like to assure you that we will continue to conduct that necessary training to ensure that our guests receive the positive and memorable hotel experiences that we are committed to deliver.

While we seemed to have fallen short in some areas of our service, I am very glad to note that the work of our housekeeping team did not disappoint you.

Once again, please accept my sincerest apologies for failing to meet your expectations. Moreover, it is great to hear that you will be staying at Royal Wing again in November. The team will be very happy to welcome you back.

It was a pleasure to have you as our guest.

Warm regards,

Prem Calais

Not for the budget travelers but at the half the cost of a Premier Inn in London its pure luxury, excellent sea views, 11 resaurants. Loads of pools. Private beach, attentive staff. Well worth the extra cost, no point paying a bit less to get a whole lot less

We have stayed at the Royal Cliff many, many times over 20 years and our recent visit didn't disappoint. The accommodation is excellent, the service very good and the facilities first-rate, with beaufifully-manicured gardens, swimming pools etc. Even though this is a very large complex that can be busy with the sort of guest one would prefer to avoid, there are always quiet and exclusive areas that offer sanctuary from the horrors of Pattaya! Indeed, the Royal Cliff is our reason for visiting Pattaya and we look forward to our next visit.
