My family and I booked the grand club seaview rooms during middle of February, 2012

Then when we check -in we had to wait quite long for the rooms as it was saturday and may be peak period for the hotel. Since one member of my family was not feeling well and could wait for the assigned rooms very long - to our surprise - the hotel manager in charge was very kind and considerate to upgrade our family to the Regency Club Suite room with two bedrooms. This really made our stay much more enjoyable as there were many doors were there that we could enter the large balcony from any corner with nearly 360 degree angle paronamic views all over the floor. We did not anticipate that the hotel staff would be so kind and did everything with lovely smiles and they were always available to assist us whenever we needed anything.

The swimming pool was large and the complimentary Buffet Breakfast was great with large
selections of goodies.

We would highly recommend this beautiful hotel as it would be a great experience for anybody visiting Pattaya.

Cheers to the management and all staff at the hotel for maintaining such a high standard eventhough your hotel is more than 30 years but you are still doing a wonderful job.

This really is a gorgeous resort just about five minutes of the party area of Walking Street. Lovely pools, lovely grounds, great restaurants (although some could do be with a later opening) and nice service.

Check in was terrible however, even though they had our reservation in their system, for some reason wanted us to go to the business centre and print our expedia billing. Very annoying after a 12 hour flight. Then the hard sell to get us to upgrade. We were so tired all we wanted to do was get into a shower and relax, not for an arduous long check in.

The rooms were very dated. Don't be fooled by some of the exotic pictures on their brochures. Maybe there are renovated rooms in this complex, but we got a really dated old room. The balcony however was fantastic. Loads of room, and a gorgeous sea view.

As i say the complex was gorgeous, but the sand area around the sea .... well let's say it wasn't exactly the Caribbean, and some areas were downright filthy. We stuck to the pool areas to get our bit of sun.

Also it was a little misleading on the brochures to suggest they had tennis and squash courts, as you had to get a shuttle to these (not walking distant), and then pay extra to use these facilities.

The free shuttle buses into the town were always CONSTANTLY booked. How about they add a few more? Or is it just a ruse to get people to use their on site taxi service for a fee?

These were just minor gripes however, as the resort itself for the price you pay was gorgeous.

We are planning to renovate the rooms in the Grand building this year. The other three hotels have already gone through major refurbishment. On your next trip please do consider Beach Hotel, Beach Terrace and Royal Wing. I apologise about our front staff service and rest assure that this will not happen again. Our fitness and sports centre (Fitz Club) offer free use of gym, swimming and some exercise classes to hotel guest. For tennis and squash we offer this at a discounted rate to our guest. Our tennis and squash facilities are amongst the best in the area and we can assure you that it is value for money.

My wife and I booked for Chinese New Year Jan 2012 through Booking.com. Rate was good and included a great breakfast buffet. We had booked a different hotel in this group of three, but were upgraded to the Grand Hotel on arrival. Hotel was very clean, well maintained. Service was attentive and helpful. The beach is narrow and consists largely of a sandy area above a seawall, due to the hotel's position on a rocky point, but there is a walkable beach area at low tide and a more conventional beach a short walk to the south. The property has a number of pools, all of which are great lounging and sunning areas. Downtown is a short taxi or shuttle ride away. We would definitely visit again. Hints: avoid rooms in the Grand near the elevators as they're a bit noisy, try the great fitness complex, use a taxi or limo to travel to and from the airport in Bangkok.

Room Tip: Avoid the elevators, they rumble at night.

The Grand at Royal Cliff is among three Royal Cliff Hotels situated on the cliffs overlooking Pattaya Beach, Thailand. All three are interconnected and there's access to most services associated with each, including spa, several pools, bars, and other services. The Grand is a wonderful hotel with a great staff - always ready with a smile and happy to assist with any needs. The lobby, restaurants, lounges, pool areas, and rooms are all very clean with helpful staff. The rooms have plenty of space with comfortable beds and most have balconies overlooking the water/beach. The Grand has several restaurants in it (steakhouse, sushi, and chinese) which were each wonderful - particularly the steak house. At the time I visited (first week of January) the hotel was full of Russian tourists on vacation with their families. Although Pattaya isn't exactly what I'd call a "family vacation" kind of area, if you end up there then the Royal Cliff Grand is an excellent choice for families or for couples. As far as location, the hotel is distinctly set apart from the rough and tumble area that is Pattaya Beach, so you can take a break from the street scene and relax in peace by the pool or in your room.

hotel was clean with excellent service,very friendly and helpfull staff that cant do enuough to help you with a smile-food is stuning in every restaurant and buffet is fantastic,maid service was absolutely fantastic and any time 8am till midnight your room would be cleaned any time u needed or everytime u left the room-spotless.cant fault this hotel in anyway and security was second to none-i cant wait to go back
