The drive up from the coast should have prepared us for the stunning view that would greet us but, on this occasion the weather and low cloud prevented it. Saying that, the following morning, the sun was beaming and the view literally took our collective breaths away.
In terms of location, the villa is situated in a carefully managed, private development clinging to the hill-side. Arriving through the gates each time we travelled, we were warmly greeted by the friendly security guard and his collection of dogs. The drive up from the beach area is steep and a hire car is essential.
The villa is generously spread over several floors. Entertaining and dining areas (indoors and out) on the topmost floor, infinity pool and bedrooms (non master) on the lower floor. Owing to the view, our favourite locations were the upper balcony dining area and the pool-side sunbathing area. Each bedroom was generously proportioned with its own bathroom and, now 'common' stunning view. The Master bedroom, with triple aspect, huge ensuite and terrace hot-tub was truly mind-blowing - it was the kind of view ruined by drawing curtains and I was thankful for the tropical rainforest (front and side) that ensured my privacy.
Internally, the villa is well furnished, truly feeling like a family home as opposed a corporate 'copy-paste' of Thai inspired décor.
The villa is also well managed by Moc who went above and beyond to help ensure our stay was perfect. He was able to recommend an amazing Chef (kind enough to give my son and I a Thai cookery lesson) and recommend places to explore on this stunning island.
I would wholeheartedly recommend this villa to most people..... book it if you want privacy, a stunning view, nature and fresh-air, a home as opposed let. Come with fit legs (you'll need them for the stairs) and be prepared to let your stresses float away with the clouds....
