“Amazing experience, great house in a great location if you would like to "Chill"”
Reviewed 9 September 2013 for a stay in July 2013

We were two families of four with teenage children and wanted something different from the resort experience, well it was different, and it was fantastic. This property has everything and we were not disappointed. This well appointed house was surrounded by a very private fence giving both privacy and not that you would need it security. Having beautiful gardens and a pool big enough for us all to enjoy whenever we wanted (no 8pm close like a number of resorts) was a great bonus.
The house itself was large and provided ample space to sit, and as the kids would say "Chill" with large flat screen televisions in all the rooms with Satellite channels. having this space of an evening and even during the day made it also special as you could sit around a large kitchen table chatting or playing cards or relax in the lounge and not have to sit in a room on the end of a bed in a resort.
The 2 main rooms were very spacious and extremely comfortable and the kids room had the added extra of a play station to keep them occupied when not in the pool. Each of the rooms and double doors that open onto the pool area and the garden also provided an outdoor shower to rinse off if you like after a dip, or returning from the beach.
The house had a surround system hooked up to play through both internal speakers and also external speakers when sitting around the pool.
There is a modern kitchen that has all the features need if you wanted to cook for yourself, including dish washer, coffee machine, small BBQ but also has a large fridge to keep your drinks nice and cold.
The location of the house is fantastic with a small shop across the very quiet street that sells all the items you would require and even does laundry you don't need to venture too far. Even if you do a 7-11 is located about 200m up the street. Also next door to the house is a lovely little massage shop which was well used and enjoyed and very reasonably priced (as everything is). They also hire motorbikes and cars which can also come in handy. The locals operating these businesses were fantastic and made you feel very welcome.
Within a couple of hundred metre are 3-4 restaurants that we enjoyed and one that even delivered which was amazing, again all within walking distance. The kids enjoyed one as it had a pool table and they would wonder up in the afternoon for a drink and games of pool.
The location of the house is roughly 400m from the beach, but we found we could not pull ourselves away from the house and pool, and although we spent 8 days here we only ventured down to the beach 3-4 times, but the walks along the beach were worth it.
What made the holiday also great was that the owner also arranged for a mini bus to collect and return us to the Airport. After a last minute flight cancellation we were also able to extend our stay by a day without hassle.
Overall an excellent experience in a great location, and one that we would use again.

“Perfect for families.”
Reviewed 8 September 2013 for a stay in August 2013

As this was a 6 week holiday a lot of research was done before we decided on this villa. The booking was easy and all our questions were answered by Jacquie the owner ahead of our reservation. On arrival we were met by a car at the airport and taken to the villa which is great after a long flight from London with two young kids aged 4 & 7 at the villa Lin the house manager gave us the keys and explained how everything worked and there was even a welcome pack with essentials (wine, beer, bread and milk) until we could shop the next morning.
The villa itself is very clean spacious and luxurious, but most importantly everything just worked as it should, the wifi, fridge, cooker, microwave, tv, cable, DVDs etc all came in very handy to wind down with after a long day in the perfect family pool, which my 4 year old daughter learnt to swim in, the location is also great with lots of local amenities on the doorstep.
We had a fabulous stay and in 6 weeks did not have one single complaint and left with many fond memories of a great family holiday.

The villa was very nice to stay, close to the beach, little shops and restaurants.
We were travelling with young children, they were also very welcome at the villa. They just loved the pool, but also enjoyed the dvd system to watch a movie after a long swim.
Would def. recommend this rental for a stay at beautifull Samui!

“Ban Thai Lee - secluded luxury”
Reviewed 6 October 2011 for a stay in September 2011

We saw this property being built last year and when we saw the final photos knew it was the one for us. Usually we travel as a couple, but this year we had our 3 adult children/partners with us so needed a 3-bedroom property with at least 2 bathrooms (this has 3).

Ban Tai Lee is a stand-alone villa in a typical Thai village near Maenam, only 800m from a lovely beach. Away from the main resorts (and especially the hideous Chaweng) this is still close enough to the popular Fisherman's village for eating out but also to a number of nearby resorts if you want to dine in stylish comfort. For those who are more adventurous and want a real local experience, there are local Thai restaurants within close walking distance and you never have to venture far from home to get anything you need, including scooters which are rented across the lane.

There is a local hairdresser/salon, gym, grocery stores, beach, etc etc. Chefs can be arranged however we didn't need this as we like to eat out.
This villa doesn't have sea views, however from the main bedroom you wake up looking over the pool and palm trees beyond the wall. It's only 800m to the local beach, which is a lovely spot and near to the Mimosa resort if you fancy cocktails at sunset within walking distance.

As a new property, this villa is exceptionally finished to a very high standard with everything you need in the kitchen. The 3 bedrooms all have their own en-suites, and the 2nd bedroom has it's own separate entry to the rest of the house for added privacy (perfect for our eldest offspring who travelled with her partner). Fully air-conditioned if you need it, at the time of year we stayed there were lovely breezes so we didn't use it that much. The villa is positioned as a L-shape around the pool, which has "pure" water, something new to us but basically you don't need to rinse chlorine from your swimmers or wash your hair every day, although there is an outdoor shower. The landscaping is very tropical and Thai style, with a lovely pool pagoda for drinks or to have your morning coffee.
We had a lovely relaxing break and are thinking of a return trip next year, this time with friends.
