Thanks to Rhys and his staff we had a fabulous afternoon out on a private boat. We were two families with children from 13-16.
Communication and booking were easy and informative and the day of the boat trip was great fun.

We don’t enjoy trips with large groups of strangers and being given a fixed schedule so it was great to be able to hop from island to island at our own pace.

Snorkelling, a thai meal and a cruise around the Five Islands were all well done.

Thank you!

We booked their charter to Ang Thong through the concierge at the Conrad and I can’t say enough good things about this company. I believe the guys we had were Em, Bang and Jem and they were just so kind and did their best to give us a spectacular day. The first snorkel spot was packed with people so they took us to another one that we got to enjoy just with our family and same thing when we were looking for a beach spot. The first one had a boat already there so we went close by where our family had the island and beach to ourself. Thank you again for a wonderful day!!

During our recent holiday at Koh Samui we’ve booked a privately chartered boat through Oceana Samui Charters for a full day trip to Mu Koh Ang Thong National Park.
We were researching many companies, (there are many of them in Koh Samui), however reading through the reviews on the trip advisor we realized that many tourists advised against the larger group tours that have 30+ individuals on the boat.

We were referred to Oceana Samui Charters.

We wanted our trip to be special, memorable and personalised to our requests and interests and Oceana Samui charters delivered exactly what we wanted. We’ve booked a private charter boat with 2 crew members plus a guide.

Having a speed boat to ourselves, it meant that we could leave at 9.00am rather than 7.30am, so we could have our massive buffet breakfast at our hotel.
We boarded the boat only short drive from the hotel, which was a huge convenience, rather than to be driven 40+ mins to north side of the island where most of the tours departed from.
Our guide was Mint (Mob: +66 881 963 537), a young local lady and she was absolutely amazing.

I need to stress that I have absolutely no alliance with the company or any of the members of the company. We’ve never ever met them or spoke to them prior to our trip to Koh Samui. My review of this company is independent and based on our experience with this amazing crew we met on this trip for the very first time.

The reason I am praising them so much is because they made our trip so memorable and special. Our tour guide Mint, the boat Capitan Bao and his crew member Pok were doing everything they could to make our day special. They’ve asked us what we want and don’t want to do upon boarding and we were off to the best one-day trip of our life.

To avoid the crowds, before the rest of the boats made it there, they took us to the Emerald lake. It was pretty amazing, however what followed was even better.
Just a note; make sure you are wearing comfortable shoes, preferably runners, since some of the paths are pretty steep, almost vertical.

We went cruising on the nearby islands and stopped at the inhabited island of fisherman’s village, sometimes referred to as sea Gypsies. We were lucky to see the life of the islanders, behind the tourist scenes. We walked through the island observing the life of the locals, watching them play cards and relax on the hot day. We inspected their new road construction (still unfinished), their new solar station, their cottages they live in. We saw the fisherman cleaning the fish after the morning fishing, relaxing on the hot day; we saw papaya fruits on the trees ready to be picked and much, much more usually not experienced by bigger tours.
There was a restaurant setup for the lunch of incoming tourist charter boats.

Before the tourist boats came we were gone again to our next adventure, hiking up to the Pha Jun Jaras view point, 500 metres above the sea level.
The walk up is challenging but there are few resting stations along the way and if you pace yourself you can do it. Make sure you have comfortable shoes, preferably runners and plenty of water. There is a very high humidity and you will sweat a lot; you have to have water with you.
The humidity makes it a bit more challenging but when you get to the top and see the view, you will forget everything and just absorb the scenery. It truly is something amazing.
You have the surrounding islands on the platter straight in front of you and only from the lookout you realise the beauty of this spectacular National Park. It truly is worth the challenging hike to the top.
Do not forget to look up the tree crowns on the way up for the monkeys. There are there and they will come down occasionally to do their own observation of you. It is another experience not to be missed.

After the spectacular hike we were off again to cruise the surrounding islands and the caves. The experience was something we will have imprinted in our memory for the rest of our lives. The islands and the caves are absolutely spectacular and no photo can replace the experience you get by visiting these amazing islands. I believe there are around 42 of them and they all are astonishingly different and beautiful.
It’s definitely a must see!

I don’t think we would have the same experience with the crowded tourist boat. The private charter is more expensive but the memorable experience is worth it. If you can, do it.
Our crew, Mint, Bao and Pak were doing everything possible to make this trip memorable and special for us. We were treated like a royalty.

We would highly recommend Oceana Samui Charters for the tour of the Mu Koh Ang Thong National Park. If you cannot afford the privately charted boat, get a small group of people together and split the bill. I would definitely recommend the small group tour over the larger one.

Thank you Mint, Bao and Pak for the experience of the lifetime, thank you Oceana Samui Charters.

For ever grateful Eva & Rudy.

We booked a 40ft boat for the day and did snorkelling, hikes a great lunch and then relaxing swimming. They found us some great snorkelling spots away from all the crowds. Professional and safe. Highly recommended. Will never do a crowded boat tour again.

We went on a jet ski safari with Oceana Samui on Christmas Day and then an island boat ride on Boxing Day.

We were met by an Oceana rep at our hotel and driven to the beach where our jet skis were waiting. The skis were new and in great shape and we were given a lot of freedom to really enjoy them. While safety was clearly important, there was also a huge emphasis on having fun, which we absolutely did. We visited a couple of beautiful islands, had some great food and drink and got to snorkel in one of the nearby bays. On the ride back we got to see our villa at the Conrad from the ocean, which was nice. Our guide was very pleasant and seemed genuinely keen to ensure we enjoyed our trip. He was happy for us to stop, look around, take photos etc. At no point did we feel rushed or pressured and there were certainly no concerns over being ripped of, as with many other jet ski rental facilities in Thailand.

Our boat ride the next day was provided free by the hotel, which made it all the more enjoyable. Again, we were met by the Oceana rep and driven to the dock, where we boarded for our ride out to one of the islands we had visited the day before. The boat was fast, comfortable and fun and the team on board were very friendly and pleasant. Unfortunately the water wasn't suitable for snorkeling that day, but the trip was not cut short. Instead, we were given almost two hours to relax on the island before heading back.

Overall, I'd highly recommend Oceana Samui for watersports in Koh Samui. They are professional, fun, friendly and great value. We're heading back to the island in July and already planning another trip with them.
