Bodhi Serene really lives up to its name. The entire staff was extremely friendly and accommodating, the grounds are gorgeous, and it was in the center of everything. The Sunday Night Market was just a few blocks away and there are tons of temples within walking distance. The concierge was very helpful with booking a trip up to Doh Inthanon and with restaurant recommendations in the area. It was pretty hot when we visited (95 degrees!) so we would spend the morning and early afternoon walking around the Old City and then relaxing by the beautiful pool in the afternoon. I recommend the Mango Basil cocktail and the chicken satay. Also the morning breakfast is pretty good with lots of options. I would definitely stay here again!

We recently spent 4 nights at the Bodhi Serene.
We arrived at 11:30pm after travelling for almost 24 hours from Toronto.

The main reason we picked this hotel is because we knew we'd be arriving late and wanted a hotel with 24 hour room service. Their website says they have 24 hour room service, but when we arrived we were told that the kitchen was closed. We were already exhausted and now had to wander a city we didn't know in search of food.

Besides that - here are some of the pros and cons:

Pros:
1. Beautiful hotel. The breakfast area was really serene and peaceful
2. The staff was always really helpful
3. The hotel was well located. We were only about 10 minutes away from the main action so it was quiet at night but we were never far from anything.

Cons:
1. We didn't like our room. You could see into the bathroom from almost every angle of the room. We had to come up with a way to cover the bathroom doors. Not sure why hotels think we want to see our travel companions on the toilet but this seems to be a trend that needs to stop
2. The room was also really dark

Since I really hate the see-through bathroom door, I wouldn't stay here again, but if you don't mind that, it's a good hotel that gives you everything you need. Just don't arrive at night expecting room service!

Room Tip: Room 421 is dark and doesn't have a proper door to the bathroom

Our first trip to Chiangmai and we got lucky with this hotel. Very close to everything so we had lots of good walks, the markets, restaurants and bars surround you in the Old City when staying at this hotel. The staff was exceptional which to be honest is our general experience here in Thailand. Breakfast was good, pool area is small but it is a small hotel so not a surprise really, The tours which were recommended exceeded expectations. Felt we got good value staying at this hotel.

This is a very nice hotel located in the city center. It is a boutique hotel so it does not have all of the amenities of a large 5-star (there's no gym, business center, etc.), but you know that when you book. The staff was very accommodating and the grounds were nice. The pool area could use some maintenance because some areas on the surrounding wall looked a little worn/molded, but when cleaned, I think will be lovely. For the price, I think it was a great deal.

This hotel, the accommodations, the staff, the beautiful courtyard, the endless breakfast spread - everything was a perfect recharge after our busy days in Chang Mai. Our stay here could not have gotten any better. I took many pictures of the court yard which was a large beautiful garden with flowers blooming and relaxing fountain. Our room was large, shower was always great and the amenities (mini fridge, coffee, etc) were also just great here. The hotel is close to many restaurants, sights and things to do and yet is very quiet at night, we both slept like rocks. All of our needs and wishes were fully met.

Special shout out to the driver, Tak Jr. who gave us a very warm welcome at the airport and a very sweet send off after our stay. We met a lot of nice people in Chang Mai but Tak truly embodies Sa Bai Sa Bai (rough translation = happy and relaxed). We will miss him!

As an aside, in response to some of the comments, the internet was a bit slow at this hotel but it was slow wherever we went in Chang Mai so I don’t think it was particular to the hotel.

Thank you Bodi Serene, we will be coming back for sure!
