This hotel is a little older but still nice. The staff is extremely friendly and helpful as I’ve found all over Thailand. The on- site restaurant is ok but not the best we’ve ever had. I was disappointed 2 days in a row for breakfast as they had no watermelon but quite a variety of other items. We found a nice restaurant across the street we patronized twice. The hotel is in a quiet setting with nice views. I would come here again if in the area.

Dear Guest
Thank you for your stay and your post on TripAdvisor. We are pleased that you enjoyed your stay overall. Our hotel has actually two restaurants, namely the Gold Leaf Chinese Restaurant and the Mae Ping Coffee Shop. If you liked so much watermelon, our associates would have arranged it for you with pleasure. We do look forward to welcoming you back on another occasion.
Kind regards from The Imperial Mae Ping Team and peter – general manager

We stayed on the 15th floor last week for 3 nights. We arrived early morning having got the overnight train from Bangkok and understandably we couldn't get into the room until 2pm so relaxed by one of the two nice pools. All staff are generally very friendly and helpful apart from one female receptionist who consistently came across as rude and unfriendly.
It seemed strange to us how the corridor outside our room was consistently busy with Chinese/Asian tourists but from some investigation it appears the hotel runs tours to this floor as a late Taiwanese singer stayed here once! So if you want some peace perhaps ask to stay on a different floor!
The breakfast had quite a good variety but could do more for vegans/vegetarians.
The gym on site is quite small with 3/4 pieces of equipment.
The hotel is well located near the Night Bazaar markets, I definitely recommend going into the Ploen Rides food/drink area with live music.
If you're looking for a good massage nearby I recommend the Natchen across the road, I had a couple of 30 min foot/leg massages for 120 baht.

Dear Colin
Thank you for your visit of our hotel last month and your post on TripAdvisor. We are pleased to know that you overall enjoyed your stay. Your suggestion about more vegan items on the breakfast buffet is being discussed with our Food & Beverage team and executive chef. Indeed, we are very honoured to have accommodated the Taiwanese singer in this hotel. Her room has now become a point of interest and a must for many guests to visit. Sorry if it may have disturbed you. Our associates are more than willing to make a room change if it is requested. Our apologies for the unfriendly receptionist. It would help us very much, if you could sent the undersigned the name or description of said person.
Thank you once again and
Kind regards from The Imperial Mae Ping Team and peter – general manager

Location is very good indeed.only one block from night market (every night) and Hard Rock. Room a little bit old but rest assure the visitors can sleep comfortably.Delicious breakfast, western+asian+local delight. Management should try to apply Halal Certification just like some hotel nearby (hotel management know which hotel that i mean) to give confidence to muslim visitor. The staff always attentive to visitor (greeting, help button for lift etc)and even make my little one year son happy everytime during breakfast. This hotel is highly recommended.Value for money

The Imperial Mae Ping hotel is right in the middle of important activities. The venues are numerous, besides 2 pools, a nice garden etc. also a number of attractive restaurants and food / drink outlets. All in all, very good value for money.

I love to stay at this hotel, this was our 4th visit, it is in need of a revamp though, the breakfast is the best, all the fresh tropical fruit, and the verity of things for breakfast. The staff - they are friendly and helpful, there are two pools I like the pool on 2nd floor. Night market is not far - very hand place to be.
