Our family of 6 stayed at Lanna Hill House for two weeks in July and we all wish we had stayed longer.
Many things stood out at the property, however, the staff were exceptional and really made the place a great destination. Oppy was excellent, very professional, organised and easy to talk to. Any queries or requests were handled efficiently and she surpassed expectations every time. Thankyou Oppy! You made our holiday memorable! Thankyou too your staff who were always cheerful and helpful. Outstanding.
The villa itself is beautiful, colonial style with very tasteful décor. The grounds were very well maintained and private. Our children 9 and 10 loved the pool and used it extensively, Lanna Hill house is a beautiful place to unwind.
The breakfasts were perfect, the cooks did a great job every day. We ate at the villa every second day and enjoyed every meal. The meals were of a good size and good quality, and were different every day.
We went into Chiang Mai town every second day with Alex, Oppy's husband. Hopefully you are lucky enough to get Alex as your driver. Alex is fantastic, he has a great sense of humor and he really made our day for us plenty of times during our stay. He took good care of us and his knowledge of the city, and the country, is really very good. Sometimes it was more fun being with Alex than the places he was taking us too, which is something I have not experienced before on holiday. Thanks Alex, from all of us, we really appreciated the time we spent with you.
If you are looking for a relaxed family getaway Lanna Hill house is fantastic, and for us, ticked all of the boxes. Chiang Mai is a great city, the roads to the city are very well built and safe. Great shopping, great food and good times.
Thanks again Oppy and Alex.
We discovered the beautiful Lanna Hill Villa online when we were planning our visit to Chiang Mai in early March. We were a party of five adults and the house was just simply perfect for us. The bedrooms are large and very well decorated, the living area are inviting and spacious, but my most favorite spot is to sit on the second-floor porch/veranda off the master bedroom overlooking the hills in the morning. It is such a serene time to greet the day. The salt water pool is also very relaxing.
Our correspondence with the owner and the villa manager few months back prior to our arrival were always prompt and swift. They answered all our questions in details almost instantaneously. It was simply impressive. Oppy, the house manager, was beyond helpful to us and we could not ask for more attentive and genuine hospitality from her. Everything from breakfast to daily cleaning, laundry services, and dinner was terrific. We had dinner in-houser 4 nights out of the 5 nights we stayed at Lanna Hill. The chefs, under the supervision of Oppy, highlighted all of the local ingredients to perfection where we did not have the desire to even try any restaurants in town during our stay. We did not have any specific dietary restrictions and we allowed the chefs to create their own culinary creations and flavor profiles each night. The end results were beyond our expectations; simply one fo the best meals we had in Thailand! This was our 4th time visiting the country, first time in the North.
The house itself is located about 30-40 minutes drive outside of downtown Chiang Mai and it is located in such a beautiful location surrounded by mountains and hills. We also fell in love with the two resident dogs as they come to us from time to time for belly rubs. By the end of the day, we always looked forward to come home to Lanna Hill and unwind.
We rented a van and a driver for the duration of our stay and it was very reasonable. Our driver, Phan, who was always polite and helpful, did such a great job taking us around the area. The entire experience and the smallest details simply made our visit to Chiang Mai very memorable.
We do not hesitate to return to Lanna Hill. We love the serenity of being away from the hustle and bustle of Chiang Mai, but yet it is still accessible to visit all the attractions in town.
We stayed for a week at Lanna Hill House and had the most wonderful time. The house is perched on top of a hill with its own grounds and beautiful views. Oppy, the house manager and her staff were amazing and catered to all our needs. We did the local area tour with Alex (the guide) and saw a different side to Chiang Mai. All in all we had a great time and I would not hesitate to recommend this to anyone who wants to have a relaxing time in beautiful surroundings with delicious food cooked by your own cook!
We stayed 2 weeks in this beautiful house and loved every minute! The staff made the occasion all the more memorable, lovely friendly staff who could not do more for us. The food was on another scale, some of the finest Thai food we have eaten and every meal was a different experience, sensational!
Everything was possible from massages on the veranda to sight seeing trips, all wonderful.
As golfers we played a few rounds at the near by Highlands golf course, an early round is a must if you want to avoid the mid day sun, and then back to relax around the salt water pool with a cold beer, perfect.
If you are thinking about booking, don't hesitate. one of the most relaxing holidays we have had in years......thank you to Oppy and her team!
We look forward to the next visit!
We went with a friend and his family who has stayed at Lanna Hill house once last year. We heard great things about it prior to coming but after staying for 4 nights, the actual experience certainly exceeded our expectations.
We just love the house design and its spaciousness. It even has an attic with 2 single beds that all the kids kept going to play during the day with a great view of the lake. It has its own garden where it grows its own papaya, bananas and even chilli padi. The staff were great and very friendly and accomodating. The 2 dogs were really friendly as well and my 2 daughters (3 and 5 yeard old) were patting them frequently.
The surroundings are really nice too with a beautiful lake nearby (5-10min walk). People around the area are very friendly and it was refreshing interacting with them. It is quite a distance to the city but the whole point of staying here would be to get away from the city and get closer to nature. Weather is cool and you can smell the scent of trees in the air....very refreshing.
I could go on and on but in short, you have to basically experience it for yourself...=).
