“first stay in bangkok”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 4 March 2012

checked in smoothly, very modern in design and decor, affinity pool amazing with views including national stadium, had treatment in spa went for 2.5 hrs 4100.00 thb. worth every baht. rooftop bar and restaurant good food although not much local served there. room very clean, pleasing had everything we needed, location seemed good close to mbk like 5minutes walk. booking tours with the person at this hotel was simple, she clearly told us what we should take with us and booked early morning call as one was a early take off helpful. the spa staff were professional and delivered excellent service, however the some of the desk staff both at the executive lounge caused reason to complain to the manager.

Room Tip: floor 22 gives access to the executive lounge

The place was just Amazing with nothing negative to say about it. Great location, very nice room, staff was very friendly and helpful, the roof top bar was awesome being able to even see the soccer game looking down at the stadium, the infinity pool and free Wifi.....The buffet breakfast was really nice with so many different thing to chose from. Would definitely recommend it and most likely to come back when we get a chance to visit Bangkok again in the near future!

Room Tip: Request for high floor

We loved our stay from the minute go! The place has attitude.. and the staff are efficient beyond belief. Friendly Mr Vichit and Chef Nietzsche are always on their rounds making certain all is well with the food and the service. Our stay coincided with a South African Wine tasting evening- and boy! what a fine way to start our stay here! The roof-top restaurant has some fab views, some great food and the duet who sang and played the guitar were easy on the ear! The location of this hotel is quite central and well connected with the National Stadium station next door! Value for money and a super gym to boot! Yes! we will certainly choose this hotel again!

Room Tip: Our room overlooked the stadium which is a pleasant view!

The hotel is located right next to a Skytrain station which makes it a good base for exploring all that the city has to offer. The traffic is really awful so using the train is a good option if you've got alot to fit into your timetable in a small amount of time - clean, efficent and fairly straightforward it makes the London Underground system look postively primitive. The staff at the Siam were very friendly and nothing was too much trouble for them. The general style of decor throughout is modern & industrial which understandably might not appeal to some, but the bedrooms were perfectly cozy & comfortable so you shouldn't let that put you off staying. The swimming pool out on the side of the building was great, although the floors were very slippery so be careful! The roof bar is also definitely worth a visit as you get to combine great views with lovely cocktails. There was a massive amount of choice for breakfast and it was very good quality. I only had one gripe and that was that there were only 2 small lifts which wasn't enough for the number of guests staying - we had to wait quite a while on a couple of occassions. However that was a very minor issue and everything else was excellent. We would definitely return here if we stayed in Bangkok in the future.

myself+my friend spent 1 night at this hotel, the hotel is beautiful, we stayed on the executive floor , it is the 24th floor + so we had great views of the city + it was quiet. there is a roof top bar at the hotel which is nice for drinks in the evening, the breakfast is lovely, great choice, free internet access in lobby. If you want a nice holiday though, stay indoors! we made the mistake of venturing out into bangkok, it is a very dangerous + intimidating place, you can't trust anyone, its is very corrupt + the people are constantly in your face offering you a ride in their tuk tuk, if you're unfortunate like we were, you will be fooled into riding into a tuk tuk + then being charged a ridiculous price when you get out even though previously negotiating a price. the tuk tuk drivers drive with very little safety in mind, you cough alot as pollution is terrible + the tuk tuk is open, the drivers try to take you to their 'friends' shops to get you to buy things from them, they all work in cahoots with each other. it is a scary place, i would recommend going around in a large tour group if you really want to see the city + if going to the grand temple, DO NOT believe them if they say it is closed, it is open EVERY DAY + they say it is closed so they can divert you to their own temples, look for the correct entrance to the grand temple. the MBK shopping centre is great for all the typical thai goods like silks, wall hangings, elephant statues, jewellery + dressing gowans, prices very cheap too, make sure to haggle! All i can say is book a very nice hotel, go out with a tour group, not on your own + be safe as its a very intimidating city! we only felt safe when in the hotel...

Room Tip: choose executive floor the prices are still cheap
