I found this place on booking.com, it was a lot more expensive than others in its league but fancied a change from the budget rooms in hostels. I assumed because it was more expensive than others that it would be nicer, boy was I wrong.

The hotel, walk through the main entrance and it looks like you've stepped into a tax office with its original 1970s decor. This is consistent through out the place. It looks tired and warn out. The owner obviously doesn't want to spend any money on it and it shows. All the walls are marked and dirty. Rubbish on the floors. Walk up the stairs from reception and you'll be met with probably the most ridiculously designed door in history, try opening it towards you whilst walking up the stairs with hands full of luggage!

On floor 5 there's a broken floor tile in the middle of the corridor that looks like it's been broken for years and they've made no effort to fix it or warn people it's damaged. This has created a hole in the floor approx 1 inch deep. Step over the dangerous broken tile the whole floor raises up when you walk past making an unpleasant crash for the people (if any) that occupy the rooms next to it. There's no smoke detectors in the rooms and the fire extinguishers look dated like the decor.

Inside the room, you'll have the pleasure of paper thin dirty curtains. Single glazed rotting wooden windows with gaps around the edge for Mosquitos to get in. Aircon that blasts out like a jet engine that cannot be controlled (Take your ear plugs). A built in dressing table with all the plastic veneer pulled off. A bed that felt like a trampoline. A tv with about 10 channels on it but only about 4 work, none are in English and the remote only works if you're 1cm away from the screen. A bathroom with a bath and shower head that you have to hold to wash yourself in. Why didn't they mount it on the wall up high like every other shower in the world? But no, no shower curtain either so either lie in the dirty yellow bath. The toilet is so close to and facing the side of the sink you have to sit sideways with your feet in the bath to use it.

Things I did like:
- The lift was smooth and quiet. But had dangerous loose Lino on the floor so be careful when exiting.
- The coffee shop next door 'A Journey'.

So to summarise I highly suggest you avoid this death trap and stay somewhere much nicer for cheaper.

This hotel has an excellent location! Honestly its really my main concern for my hotel choice.Very close to everything in Bangkok. It is walking distance to one of the cheapest shopping malls, MBK and also close to a more pricey mall such as Siam Paragon. A few steps also to National Stadium station wherein you can go conveniently anywhere in BKK. Its 3 minutes walk to Jim Thompson house, one of the must-see in BKK.

Contrary to most comments here, our room which was room 402 was okay. Many reviews say that hot/cold shower and aircon cannot be controlled but ours was controllable. Breakfast was a typical one such as fresh juice, bread, eggs, bacon, sausages. The hotel personnel were polite and welcoming.

If you just want a place to sleep in BKK at a very affordable price and close to shopping malls and train station, this hotel is perfect!

Room Tip: Choose room 402. Shower and Aircon can be controlled. I have heard most rooms are not.

The best thing about this hotel only location, only need 3-5minutes walk to/from BTS. But the hotel was look so old, staff cannot speak english, and not friendly at all. The room was a bit smelly and there's an ants in the room. For payment they only accept cash.

Basic room, AC ok but can't be controlled, wifi good, has an elevator, PERFECT LOCATION near BTS train and shopping. Room is for sleeping only, bathroom is get in and out as no shower curtain with only hand held nozzle with bracket waist high in bath tub.
Take BTS to Sala Daeng stop (3 stops from hotel) to eat on Convent Road for lunch and visit Pat Pong night market. 1 stop to (Siam) for shopping and all kinds of food. Have to take taxi (100 baht) or Tuk Tuk(100 - 200 baht depending whether day or night) tO Khao San road (must go at night (drinking and eating on the street) as no train to that area.
