I would not say it was a must to go the Chatuchak Weekend Market every time you visited Bangkok, but without going there once, you could hardly convince your friends that you have been to this city.

There were many stalls in this weekend market, where you could find clothing, aroma, decorations, pet stuffs, food and etc. The price was not necessarily lower than shops in downtown, but things were normally less expensive in this country, and sometimes it was fun to do some light bargaining and comparing prices, especially it was not for commodities.

We can't move on with the largest markets in the world, Chatuchak.. It seems to unite everything buyable, from used vintage sneakers, craft, beg, and to all local handmade.. Please try to spend a full day here.. will go next time n spent like a 2-3 days for this market only..

I am a nursing mother of 8mo baby girl. Here how I 'survived' within 6 hours :

1. Prepare yourself & baby with light clothes.
2. We use baby stroller and baby carrier. There are some narrow path which is difficult to use stroller.
3. There are no proper place to nurse. I just did it at restaurant, while massaging, and i sat at any bench to nurse, as long as my baby full.
4. The halal food is limited (people said near clock tower, but don't go there). We had lunch at Section 12, Soi 21/2. The taste is superb and must try sticky-rice with mango. So cheap and nice!

Tips:

1. Go early morning as u can, the toilet is still clean and not full (there will be a long queue in afternoon)
2. Take a map
3. Take photo to avoid lost
4. Eat & drinks a lot.
5. Take care of your belongings and kids
6. Bring hat or fan with you
7. Wear comfy sneakers / slipper
8. Remember the section & soi number (there a lot and a lots!)
9. Go massage! it was cheap! Choose proper place.

We visited the Chatuchak Weekend Market on a Sunday in March of 2018. What an experience the market was!! It's so large and a complete maze of shops and food vendors. This market sells everything! You can find souvenirs, clothing, crafts, local goods and MUCH MORE! This market is a must do while in Bangkok and I would highly recommend checking it out for a few hours. There is a skytain station that stops very close to the Chatuchak Weekend Market. The station is called Mo Chit. We were able to ride the skytrain from our hotel all the way to the market for very cheap, much cheaper then taking a taxi.
