I have visited Jim Thompson’s house several times over the years. I am always impressed by the beauty and the serenity of the house and the gardens. It can get busy so best to visit early and on weekdays to avoid too many people.

Great to combine with a boat ride on the Khlongs to the Golden Mount. The cafe in the gardens is also nice.

Thank ChrisShanghai

If you now the story about Jim and you're a fan, yes, go ahead.. Otherwise you're wasting your time..
For me this is a monument for Thai people, because is about a person that change and create something important for them..but for us is just a expensive place to visit and a kind of wast of time!

My husband and I enjoyed our visit to Jim Thompson’s house. It was easy to get to being very close to the skytrain station National Monument. We did the 45 min tour which was very informative, the guide sharing lots of interesting information. The houses are very well preserved and the gardens are a little oasis in the middle of Bangkok.

JT is an iconic figure in Bangkok history so important to see his beautiful home. It is unique in it’s architecture and gardens and there is beautiful shop selling JT silks. We did not eat there but there was a nice restaurant as well.
