We attended a morning cooking class. It was a great experience and so much fun! Koy is a wonderful teacher. From the trip to the market, tour of the market, learning about the ingredients used in Thai cooking, the details of prepping for our meal, chopping, mixing, cooking...everything is very well planned and the attention to details makes the class a truly great and fun experience. The complete meal in the end is delicious! I would recommend this experience for any age and the is no prior cooking experience necessary....learn for Koy and have fun!

Sompong cooking class was one of the highlights of our entire SE Asia trip! It's very easy to get to from the BTS station. They greet you at the sky train exit and drive you to the class location. Everything was very organized and the instructors were terrific. We made pad see ew, ground chicken salad with a tomato rose, yellow chicken curry, and mango sticky rice. It's a very hands-on class. They prep all the ingredients for you but you cook everything yourself. All of the food was absolutely delicious and they teach you to present it beautifully. It was some of the best food we had in Thailand.

We attended the afternoon class without the market tour, but they brought all of the market goodies to class in a huge basket and explained all of the ingredients to us. They would explain the difference between different sizes of chilis and various types of basil. It's a very interactive class and you go home with a comprehensive recipe book. We've been making many of their recipes since we got back home.

One of our favorite activities in Thailand! Highly recommended!

We really enjoyed our day with the team from Sompong Cooking School. Everything leading up to the class went perfect, excellent communication by email before we arrived and the meeting up was simple and easy on the day of the class. We found the market tour to be educational and informative and we are glad we did the morning class so that would be a part of our experience. Once at the school itself, it is clear this is a well rehearsed and very well organized team. The instruction is top notch, the facilities are incredibly well laid out and comfortable, and the team works incredibly hard to keep things flowing smoothly, with everything prepared and ready for the student chefs to give things a try after the instructor walks everyone through the process. We made a Papaya Salad, Penang Curry, Pad Thai and Mango with Sticky Rice as our menu, and we learned so much along the way, and really enjoyed the flavours, colours, aromas and taste of each dish we made while at the school. We have been to other cooking classes both in Thailand and in other cities around the world such as in Vietnam, and Sompong was by far our favourite so far. This is a first class way to spend the better part of a day in Bangkok, and we would recommend to anyone visiting to give it a try early on in their visit, and you will appreciate the food you will eat for the rest of your trip even more. Our thanks to the Sompong team for an excellent day! Time and money well invested for sure.

In general, I find the reviews on Tripadvisor to be quite accurate...and in the case of the Sompong Thai Cooking School, they were spot on. We arrived via BTS and it was very easy to find a lady in the red apron who showed us the next one in the street who summoned the driver of the van that took us 3-4 minutes to the school.

Most everything is already prepped for you and laid out in the proper measurements. You'll even learn how to make a rose by peeling a tomato. We went on a Saturday and the menu was first-rate. Make sure you don't eat too much at breakfast. You will be eating a lot there. In fact, we didn't even eat dinner that evening. At 1000 baht, the value of not only the food but learning how to make it (and bringing home a cookbook) is really quite remarkable.

We took our class with 4 people from Hong Kong, 2 Brits and a guy from Italy. There were three more poeple but I couldn't tell you where they were from. It was fairly easy to understand everything the instructor said and she infused a lot of humour too. Try it...I guarantee you will love it.

interesting class. time to know in-depth thai culture by exploring the thai cooking. the instructor first introduces the key ingredient of thai food, such as lemon, peper, and egg plant. then we cook soup, and mian dished. very nice and recommand.
