Nice new hotel, attentive staff, clean room and comforatable beds. I stayed here two times in Jan/Feb 2012. The promotional rates of just over 2000baht per night made it a well priced hotel for my stay.
the staff at reception, bar and restaurant were all well trained, spoke excellent english and did a very good job.
the hotel has a nice pool and good gym as well. the rooms are well appointed with "universal" sockets for power so you wont need a power adapter.

Room Tip: All rooms I stayed in were very good.

The Aloft Bangkok is a brand new hotel right in the tourist center of Bangkok.

On check-in I was given the opportunity to upgrade my room to test out their new technology, called Fingi. They lend you a Samsung Galaxy S2 phone, with which you can control everything in the room, no more using a bunch of remotes and out-of-reach switches.

It has a TV guide, light controls, Air conditioner settings, the works. Amazing and very fitting in this hip hotel

When I come back next year I'd certainly ask for one of these rooms again!

Room Tip: Ask for an 'Urban Touch' room, these will get you the Samsung Phone during your stay with which you can control everything.

Just opened a couple months ago, so everything is new. Very trendy, which some people may not like so much, but if you do then this is the place for you. Decent sized rooms and bathroom/toilet/vanity. Closet space, good Internet, big TV. Large bed.

Pool is nice (but after 2pm in shade). Small gym but has most of what you would want.

Breakfast is not a 5 star, but then again it only costs 550baht, which for a hotel is OK.

Pretty convenient location with lots of restaurants around, including a little India of sorts. One thing though is that dragging heavy suitcases from Nana BTS would be a pain since the sidewalks are crowded. Taxi to airport on a Sunday was just 25 minutes (@140kph though). Pay the meter 210 baht plus tolls (60-75?). Not the 400 the driver will ask you for.

Room Tip: End room, higher up is quieter (maybe)

We just checked out of here and it was a cool hotel. The service was good, the room was awesome, and the location was near several good bars and restaurants.

One of the nice features of this hotel was the small coffee bar that was open 24 hours in the lobby. They also had small snacks which made a good quick breakfast.
