Very clean and hidden gem.

There are great places to chill out at udee's downstairs and on the roof top. I stayed in the female dorm. The bathroom area is kept nice and clean. The location is off the tourist track which means you get to see some of the real bangkok. The skytrain is close for those who like to stay connected. A communal fridge is available as are tea and coffee making facilities. This i have not found in other hostels. A quiet location.

My first nights in Bangkok and in fact Thailand were spent with Udee Bangkok. I was feeling a little shell shocked arriving here alone and after a 14 hour flight but the staff at Udee Bangkok made things so comfortable and easy. The building itself has a real Zen like Feng Shui feel with the oriental style fish pond in the reception area. Both this and the friendly welcoming, helpful staff put me at ease and I felt instantly calm and relaxed. I was relieved that it wasn't a noisy hostel with gap year students partying until the early hours. There was a touch of chilled out sophistication. So clean I had a feeling the owners might have a touch of OCD. It felt like a home from home. Udee Bangkok is efficiently ran with everything you need. Breakfast, kitchen facilities, free wifi, washing machine and dryers available not to mention a cool roof terrace. The staff are very organised and competent and its clearly professional and well thought out. The owners should be proud of there business. Its a little away from the centre but that suited me. Its conveniently located near the Big C supermarket if you want shopping and the Sky Train for journey's into town. Minor set back where my laptop had issues and I was slightly disappointed there were no free internet (10bht for 15mins is a bit expensive) I wanted to chill in my room and could of done with a little tv but it wasnt a deal breaker. I've already been recommending Udee Bangkok to people who may stay in Bangkok and I'll 100% be going back during my four months in Thailand. Kob Khun Krub Udee Bangkok!! My first stop was great.. what's bad for me is I'm be comparing my next hostels to this and not sure they'll come close to being as good. ;)

Room tip: If you are alone and want a private room book in advance. I ended up taking a twin and the minimum charge meant me paying for two people.

This place is a little bit far away from the centre and a bit pricey for its location but the friendly servce and the delicious free breakfast make it worth while, never mind the rooftop garden with washing machines and washing lines available.
Its trendy exterior and pretty Japanese-esque goldfish ponds make it a relaxing stop on your journey.
I'd highly reccommend this to anybody (I travelled through with my Mum and sister) who would like a little peace and quiet at the end of the day and like to have nice clean facilities to come home to.
