My first nights in Bangkok and in fact Thailand were spent with Udee Bangkok. I was feeling a little shell shocked arriving here alone and after a 14 hour flight but the staff at Udee Bangkok made things so comfortable and easy. The building itself has a real Zen like Feng Shui feel with the oriental style fish pond in the reception area. Both this and the friendly welcoming, helpful staff put me at ease and I felt instantly calm and relaxed. I was relieved that it wasn't a noisy hostel with gap year students partying until the early hours. There was a touch of chilled out sophistication. So clean I had a feeling the owners might have a touch of OCD. It felt like a home from home. Udee Bangkok is efficiently ran with everything you need. Breakfast, kitchen facilities, free wifi, washing machine and dryers available not to mention a cool roof terrace. The staff are very organised and competent and its clearly professional and well thought out. The owners should be proud of there business. Its a little away from the centre but that suited me. Its conveniently located near the Big C supermarket if you want shopping and the Sky Train for journey's into town. Minor set back where my laptop had issues and I was slightly disappointed there were no free internet (10bht for 15mins is a bit expensive) I wanted to chill in my room and could of done with a little tv but it wasnt a deal breaker. I've already been recommending Udee Bangkok to people who may stay in Bangkok and I'll 100% be going back during my four months in Thailand. Kob Khun Krub Udee Bangkok!! My first stop was great.. what's bad for me is I'm be comparing my next hostels to this and not sure they'll come close to being as good. ;)
