Went into this restaurant yesterday and had the absolute best ribs and service. The full rack ribs are more than enough for to persons and the sides are delicious. The service is outstanding and the chef really know to chose his cuts etc.
Go there whenever you have cravings for really good ribs.

There is truly AMAZING food to be found here, but the secret is, the best stuff is not found among the headline steak dishes which are good, but rather undersized and overpriced.

Instead, dive headlong into everything else on the menu. The bread, salads, the AMAZING fresh oysters, pasta, chef specials, the RIBS (oh my god, those RIBS are the best I've had anywhere in the world) ... basically, everything *but* the steaks ... and you won't find better food anywhere.

The Head Chef (American) really takes pride in everything coming out of the kitchen. I think his true creativity and skill is best discovered via the non-steak choices.

The ambiance is very nice, service is ok (not amazing) , and the drinks are well made.
It's also worth noting that the restaurant name is obviously French and there is a bit of a French theme/bias in the menu, but it really does not make sense.

In conclusion, I'll be back for sure ... just not for the steak.

A friend recommended we go here; went here for Christmas eve dinner with another friend. The resto was empty since we went late (around 9.30-9.45 pm), but the food was delicious. They served us a butter which was imported, that was absolutely great. We asked for more!

The meats are good, high quality but a little pricey. There is very limited vegetarian dishes on the menu.

We weren't sure what to expect here after reading the low star reviews, but we were pleasantly surprised. You are greeted by a wood fire pit, which smells amazing - we wish it were inside the room and not just outside as you enter. We didn't try the beef, since it was panned in the reviews, but the pork ribs were great - easy to pull off the bone and tasty. We tried two different kinds and they were both good. The half rack is huge, so if you are one person, it will be plenty. The cornbread was delicious. The roasted vegetables are also good and a decent portion size - nice for vegetarians..but expensive. Fries are tasty. They gave us free oysters to start, which were fine but we wouldn't order them - a little fishy tasting. The crab cake was good too but on the fishy side. We were excited for dessert since the reviews rave about it, but we weren't impressed on that front. It was fine but not great, certainly not the best part of the meal. They also give you bread for free and it was delicious - definitely try the butter. Cocktails were good, and the bottle of wine we had was fine, and the only part of the meal we thought was a fair price. They only have one option by the glass per category (white, red, etc). Overall it was a good meal, but we wouldn't seek it out in the future.

First time visit to Le Cochon. Even though we live in the area, we always missed seeing it because it is located just off the main Soi 31.

Approaching the restaurant and seeing it through the all glass windows, it already has us anticipating a great dining experience. The restaurant is split into two sections, divided by the open hearth wood grill that let's you know right away you are in for some serious meat!

The menu is quite brilliant and varied with one exception, steaks! They only offer Prime Rib from 1.2KG on up, or Hangar Steak. It would be wonderful (because the chef is that good!) to have a few other selections of cuts.

We started with the smoked salmon w/pancakes and dill sauce. A Wow looking dish with great creativity and balance of flavors. Followed up by one of the BEST crabcakes I have had in years!

Main was 1.43kg Prime Rib (which you get to select yourself from the meat locker). Perfectly cooked mid-rare, plated cut off the bone, with sides of butter (and I mean butter!) mashed potatoes, and gratin potatoes. Delightful!

Desserts: An incredible and inventive strawberry shortcake and one the the best Profiteroles I have ever tasted!

Service was incredible attentive, but not suffocating. The manager is quite gracious and the head chef is a very approachable person who truly cares not only about his food but his guests.

Expensive, sure. Worth it? ABSOLUTELY!
