Hotel is very good for stay in Thamel (downtown of Kathmandu)
But bigger point is it's service offered to guest by its staff. They are so welcoming that we as guest don't feel like guest. We feel more like a home with free mind.
Cafe is newly constructed and offering qualify breakfast. Vareitis in food are less as compare to full tank no kitchen but the provided stuff is high in quality. Durga is main person there who is owning this and personally meet all his guest to ensure the quality of services

I am writing on behalf of my daughter who spent 3 weeks here along with 7 other students and their teacher. They were in Katmandu to do humanitarian work. My daughter has traveled quite a bit for her young age and considered this to be an excellent accommodation. The rooms were clean as well as the bathrooms. The children were made to feel at home and staff went way beyond the call of duty. They made hot beverages for the children who were sick, escorted them everywhere, arranged excursions etc. I wanted to organize something for the kids and reached out to the hotel directly and they accommodated my request. The kids felt at home, the quality of the breakfast was great and overall it was a very pleasant stay. Thank you from the kids at College ste anne.

We stayed here for one night in December and booked this place as the reviews had seemed quite amazing. The place is not bad, but I don't think it's as amazing as people paint it out to be. For a start, our airport pick up was mixed up for some reason. The staff they sent to collect us was inexperienced and his battery went flat. He didn't know where the driver was or where the car was waiting. So we were left waiting in the carpark for quite awhile. Arriving at the hotel, Durga and the rest of the staff was friendly and knowledgeable enough. Room was quite basic. Bathroom is very basic. The place is quiet enough at night for the location but a bright light shines into the room from the gap above the door and I'm quite sensitive to light so I didn't manage to rest well. They provide filtered water and was kind enough to walk us to the bus station in the morning which we were really grateful for.

Two of my friends and I decided to go to Nepal during our holidays. We stayed four days at Yala Peak while we were visiting Kathmandu, and I just have positive words to describe our wonderful experience. The staff were incredible, super friendly, helpful and trustworthy, good facilities and cleanliness. The location is a plus, since it is in Thamel, one of the most popular neighbourhoods of the city.

Durga is one of the owners of the hotel and now we consider him a friend. We learned a lot of things from him and he gave us the best advice.

One of my friends and I met Durga again when we decided to go to Bhutan, he organized the tour and came with us.

I truly recommend Yala Peak to enjoy Kathmandu at its best.

On our first night in Nepal, a group of 10 unexperienced travellers turned up on Hotel Yala Peak's doorstep at 3am without a booking. Expecting to be turned away, we were warmly greeted by Durga and the other staff on the night shift. They explained that they were fully booked bar one room which we managed to squeeze 3 of our group into.

The rest were given a personal escort by Durga to a hotel around the corner where he explained to the manager our situation. We were shown our rooms for the night and told that by the next day Hotel Hala Peak would have enough spare rooms ready for us.

True to his word Durga helped us return in the morning to Hotel Yala Peak where we enjoyed an amazing 5 days before our hike to Base Camp. We were charged no extra cost for our terrible planning on the first night and payed the same modest rate we would have if we had stayed at Yala Peak.

After the hike we realised we had a whole day in Kathmandu with nowhere to stay before our flight at 10pm. Hotel Yala Peak Kindly offered us refuge for the day without hesitation.
We finished up our gift shopping at the markets and enjoyed delicious food at Yala Peak's kitchen with our bags safely stored at reception.

On our way out we went to reception to pay for the kind service for the day and bag storage. However, the staff turned our money down and explained that it was there pleasure to look after there previous customers and friends.

Couldn't recommend this place enough. The people make Nepal and you won't find a better group than at Yala Peak.
