Disappointing. The building itself has potential, but it’s in disrepair. Buckets underneath the sinks in the public restrooms (rather than the management repairing the plumbing). Paint splattered on the walls. Complete disregard for finish and detail - and upkeep. Without a management change, this hotel is doomed. The grounds are beautiful, the pool area is scary. Staff is friendly and helpful. Rooms were not dirty, but they weren’t great. Water temperature in the shower is inconsistent…..it will run cold to scalding hot on its own. When in a country like Nepal, being comfortable in your room is important. Note about the restaurant: breakfast buffet wasn’t that great and the staff left all the plates on the tables, so there was leftover food everywhere. Look elsewhere.

Fantastic place to stay, slightly out of the main city but then i believe that is the charm of this place. The staff was super friendly. The landscaping of the property is very nice, the restaurants and food quality is great.

We stayed on our return journey to Nepal. Wish we had stayed here earlier! Although, little far from the city center of Kathmandu, worth it. Peaceful place and nice decor. Many other local activities available. Definitely will stay again.

This is a very nice resort and I have stayed here several times, but this time there was a new twist --mountain bikes for rent. So I and a friend rented two of them. Now, where to ride? There are no extensive roads or trails within the resort. The longest stretch of road is less than 1km coming in from the entrance and it is rather steep. So we asked where to go. We were told that although the main road is busy if we turn right outside of the resort there was less traffic.

So off we went. The first short stretch outside of the resort (also less than 1 km)is ok, graveled and pave with almost no traffic. But once we hit the main road it was a nightmare. Busses, heavy-laden trucks, motor bikes, potholes, piles of sand, cows all going both ways or no way. Besides, the dust and diesel exhaust was so thick that it was hard to breathe.

But that was only the half of it. On the first hill, my friend went zipping past me at a frightening speed --- the back brake on his bike was not working. Later it turned out that the seat would also not stay up and that the gears were also not working properly.

After less than ten minutes we realized that what we were doing was both very unpleasant and very unsafe. We walked the bikes most of the way back to the hotel and informed the manager on duty what had happened. We also suggested that they suspend rental of the bikes.

As usual in these cases the response was "Yes sir, we will consider that and mention to our management". The next morning the bikes were still there and the rental signs were still up. In my view, this was clearly irresponsible. Given our experience the rentals should have been immediately suspended.

Besides that, as I said. It is one of the nicest places to stay in Kathmandu --JUST DO NOT RENT THE MOUTAIN BIKES
