For short term stays in Kathmandu, the Radisson is an excellent choice. They completed theirexpansion about 8 months ago. The new rooms are very comfortable with typical business travel amenities. New building has large restaurant on level 3 and expanded outdoor lounge on level 4. The windows are insulated, which in Kathmandu is unheard of. No road or neighborhood noise to disturb your rest. Staff and Management are very attentive and deliver a pleasant stay.

Room Tip: Close to Thamel, Darbar Marg, British, French, Canadian and Japanese Embassies.

It seems like most of the streets in Kathmandu are being widened so everything is dusty and half dug up. Thank goodness for the Radisson Hotel. You enter via a small laneway and immediatley you are inside the hotel compound, peace and calm descend. This is a modern hotel with clean facilities and pleasant staff. The Spash Bar on the fifth floor is great for an evening beer (local, of course) and the breakfast in The Fun Cafe downstairs is varied and good value. Just be a little careful of the neighbouring disco until the early hours. We asked to move rooms to avoid the noise and this was done effortlessly.

Room Tip: Ask to change rooms if the nearby disco keeps you awake.

Thank god for the Radisson in Kathmandu! I am not normally one to need a stay in a "five star" hotel..... But Kathmandu is gruelling, even for the most experienced traveller. I had checked into a quainter place prior to the Radisson and when I realized that windows were a necessity in a city with zero air pollution control, I quickly booked into this place.

While it may not be the same as you would expect in Hawaii, it is great for Kathmandu.

The buffet breakfast was also lovely and we found the staff particularly helpful and friendly. Overall, I would say go for it!

I stayed in the new wing of this hotel and it was great. I was prepared for something a bit more run down but if you find yourself in the new wing you will not be disappointed--it's great, clean, efficiently run, and the breakfast was delicious. The location was close to my office so it was convenient for me but I also had no problem getting taxis to go out in the evenings--lots of great restaurants in Thamel--and on weekends for sightseeing. Most importantly the Radisson is in Kathmandu which is simply wonderful.

Room Tip: Ask to stay in new wing!
