“experience at hotel tibet international in kathmandu”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 3 April 2012

hotel tibet international is one of the best experience for me during my travel in nepal last month!! i felt tired, exhausted, hungry, unfamiliar, scary, couldn't find clean water, food, not safe to be any where, no privacy or a big enough place for me to be comfortable in a world of chaotic city kathmandu. then i found Hotel tibet international!! i felt right away welcomed by warm energy, felt safe, friendly, clean, quiet, beautiful, caring, and convenience. it is a truly a home away from home. after days of challenging traveling. i finally found a peace of mind and enjoyment. thank you hotel tibet international make my trip to Nepal simply beautiful!!!!!

Lovely room. Very friendly and helpful staff and management. Good food. Short walk to the stupa and surrounding monasteries. A very safe clean locality.

From stepping through the door the staff were so welcoming and nothing was too much trouble. The hotel is furnished in Tibetan style. Minutes walk from the Bouda and still close to all attractions. Generator worked perfectly every time the power went off. Other hotels of this standard were so much more expensive so this was great value for money. We were up graded to a suite at no extra cost which was a bonus. There is a roof top where you can sit and relax and have breakfast should you choose.

Room Tip: All rooms would be fine

I echo all the positive reviews that Tibet International has on TripAdvisor! Here are my personal comments:

Room (we stayed at a deluxe room): very spacious, comfortable bed, great bathroom, modern and new. Internet is extra (US$5++ for 24 hours) but very reliable. Generator worked perfectly, electricity 24/7.

Service: Flawless, everyone at the hotel was kind and willing to go the extra mile to make sure everything was going well

Breakfast: american breakfast was included, sometimes there was a buffet (I guess it depends on how full the hotel is). Coffee, butter and jam are not comparable to Western options, but overall we enjoyed the plentiful options (cereals, porridge, fresh fruit, juice, eggs, ham, sausage, potato, bacon and the basket of breads)

Restaurant: mostly tibetan and chinese dishes. The ones we tried were very good though. They said they will add more options to the menu.

Location: near the Boudha Stupa (5 to 10-minute-walk), taxi needed to visit Kathmandu's Durbar Square and Thamel (but very cheap)
