Highly not recomending this place. Customer service is nil. No fan for room and requested and refused to provide and instead request to keep the windows open and sleep. Restaurant is full of flies and insects. We requested food around 7 am as we have to leave the hotel early and they refused that too. They proposed to make sandwiches previous night and provide us next day. I have informed this situation to our tour operator as well. think twice before booking this hotel.

We only visited 4 hotels in Bhutan and this was one of the best for us (out of 4). We stayed 5 nights in total. Quiet location, large rooms (actually appartments, with kitchenette and separate bedroom), very friendly and helpful staff both at reception as in the bar/resto. Great coffee in the bar. Filtred water in the rooms, which we appreciated compared to other hotels where you receive plastic bottles by tons. Bar area is rather cosy (not so common in Bhutan ...). Dishes in the restaurant pleased us well. The French toasts at breakfast were the best in Bhutan ;-).
Stay was quite comfortable. Minor issues with food. Food was not as per Indian taste. Waiting time was also bit more.
Hotel rooms are quite big and have good features like heater, sitting space, kitchen.
It seems that food is an issue in entire Bhutan except Phuentsholing. So we can accept the limitations on hotels.

Bhutan Suites is located near Changangkha Temple (not close to downtown). The area is not particularly walkable, however, our driver took us wherever we need to be, so this wasn't an issue.
Rooms are huge and spacious - with a separate living room, kitchen and large bedroom. There is a heater is both rooms, and the air conditioning worked well. It's very quiet here. There is a safe in the room, but too small to be of much use. Treated water is provided in the room.
Meals are served in the dining room. They're all vegetarian only -- well prepared and a good variety of dishes. Staff were friendly and efficient.
We had nice views from our room across the valley.

I stayed here for nine nights on a business trip to Thimphu and it was an ideal location. Great views across the city and a quiet but accessible location. The suites are very spacious, and the cafe downstairs was great for breakfast and an evening meal. The staff are very friendly and helpful. The hotel is a short walk from the Changangkha Llakhang so very handy for a short walk to see the dawn before breakfast!

Central hotel but out of the way with good views. Walkable to central Thimphu but there is no real downtown
Rooms are large with kitchen and separate bedroom and sitting areas, as well as balcony
Restaurant was good and offered lots of food for breakfast and dinner
Wifi kind of slow
Noisy at night with dogs barking all night but I think that is the same everywhere in town
