“Palatial Bush Retreat 20 Minutes from Lusaka City Centre”
Reviewed 3 April 2016 for a stay in March 2016

Porcupine Palace is truly a gem amidst a myriad of accommodation options in Lusaka. The property is set within several kilometres of bushland - and gives the impression of being worlds away from the hustle and bustle of Lusaka when the drive to town only takes about 20 minutes. Over the weekend that we stayed, we saw sable and zebra grazing close to the house, and from a distance on our daily walks. The bushland is full of interesting trees and ponds and the setting is absolutely magical. Porcupine Palace itself is quite breathtaking - the house is huge and expansive and full of interesting artifacts. We spent most of our time on the vast verandah when not luxuriating in the gorgeous pool - eating delicious treats made by Jeremiah the amazing chef and Porcupine Palace housekeeper! You can bring all sorts of delectable things along with you and ask Jeremiah to cook them up - his years of experience with a foody family and in embassies around Lusaka mean there is no end to his repertoire of scrumptious recipes! (Ask him to make his special potato salad!) It was my birthday and Jeremiah baked an incredibly indulgent chocolate cake which was delicious. The Porcupine Palace swimming pool is something else - absolutely massive and cool and beautiful with a dugout canoe at one end filled with flowers. We loved it. The house is perfect for a catch up with friends or for a family - even for a couple as a romantic getaway. It was an incredibly luxurious and very special, memorable break for us - we really hope to be back soon with friends and family visiting us in Zambia. Thank you to Jeremiah, and to Porcupine Palace for such a wonderful few days!

“A piece of heaven”
Reviewed 2 December 2014 for a stay in November 2014

Porcupine Palace is amazing. Chef Jeremiah makes it so comfortable. We stayed there for two weeks and didn't wanted to leave. Great for holidays if you like country life. Swimming pool is amazing. The staff is very friendly and owner is always a phone call away to assist.

“Two weeks of wonder”
Reviewed 1 December 2014 for a stay in April 2013

I was lucky enough to have stayed at Porcupine Palace for two weeks in April of 2013 and it was wonderful-the sounds, the smells, the pool, the wild animals and beautiful birds along with a tortoise named Be-bop who lives on the grounds. And I cannot rave enough about the cook/chef Jeremiah who met all my culinary needs and more. The house is big and roomy and breezy and lovely-and as a base from which to go on safari to Botswana and see Victoria Falls it was ideal. Can't say enough, and hope to return soon. Thank you.
