Having visited over 25 countries in Africa together, this probably ranks as one of the worst experiences so far. In many ways close to being comical.
The place is in complete decay, the staff is extremely rude and the service is truly awful. The relatively expensive rooms are more or less falling apart. There are holes in the walls and in the mosquito nets, the water is not running and toilet seat and light bulbs are broke. Before paying we were told that there was wifi, but then the nonchalant lady in the reception said that the wifi-guy was in Cotonou, and that he would be back later. After some complications we managed to get blankets for the bed. We later asked for a towel and the lady gave us an angry look and said that the key to the towel room was with the same guy, but that he should be back in the evening. He never showed up. The next morning we asked again and were given an ignorant and bored look from the lady who stated that we had to wait till 16.00 if we wanted a towel, even though she knew we were checking out at 11.00, haha.More
