Nowhere good as the Medina in Marrakech!
They are in the process of restoring the area, but the variety of goods is nowhere as good as Marrakech...save your shopping for Marrakech or even Fes.

Go to the craft area where the best shopping is. You need to haggle to get the best price. The shopkeepers are kind and not aggressive. Make sure you don’t overpack before you leave home. You will want to bring home many souvenirs!

I do not think there is much there. The views tom outside are nice as one can see Rabat, the fortress and the town of Sale but very little of interest in the median itself. The prices and choices for souvenir are significantly less attractive than in other towns in Morocco.

Once you're off the main streets, there are many roads of very civilized, covered shopping roads ... foot traffic only (and the occasional scooter). There are some of these 'roads' that are modern and some that are old. Nice atmosphere, and lots of selection. Beautiful, seaside location.

This was the first medina that we visited. We entered at Bab Chellah. It was pretty easy to find riad. The souk street had a lot to offer. The streets were relatively wide and there were landmarks to help with navigation within the medina. I went for an early morning walk and felt totally safe.
