My recent stay at the Riad Lahboul was an absolute delight. My room was spotless, and decorated very tastefully in traditional Moroccan style , as was the whole Riad .Simon and Mouna were excellent hosts , and nothing was ever too much trouble. The meals that Mouna cooked in the Riad were exquisite .I cannot recommend the Riad Lahboul highly enough.

Excellent rooms, lovely terrace, friendly owners, great service. The Riad was very nicely decorated, beautiful mosaic in the main room, rooms were very nice - we had a great suite on the second floor of the Riad. We stayed here in the heat of summer and the rooms had great A/C. The Riad is easy walking distance to the souks and the square. We enjoyed a bottle of wine on the terrace after spending the evening in the square...very nice! Breakfast in the morning was excellent.

Simon & Mouna run this Riad in Meknes, Morocco. They both speak fluent British English & French, as also, a couple other languages. This is a family-run Riad with a very personalized feel to it, mirroring my expectation of a Riad as opposed to an "industrial business" with nameless drones working. The level of service was highly professional - I used the laundry service, and also shared dinner with the family.

Meknes is a smaller city, with less tourist traps and craziness that Fez holds. If you're overwhelmed by Fez, Meknes is a very comforting city to be in to relax, and soak in the Moroccan lifestyle and culture. The people are very friendly, and the city is a good mix of the past and the future - with the modernization of youth, arrival of technology and western influences, etc. while still retaining the same old streets, monuments, buildings, souks, and more. Volubilis & Moulay Idriss are an easy day trip away.

The Riad is an extremely secure place, with deadbolts, etc. It has a beautiful lookout onto the gardens Lahboul. One can easily relax on the terrace, far away from the crowds. It is very well equipped with free high-speed wireless internet, comfortable rooms/beds, linen, bathroom, fans, etc. There is a feeling of security, and comfort within the Riad.

Simon is a very kind man, and went out of his way to walk me pretty close to the bus stop / taxi station instead of just giving me a map. He also helped co-ordinate my trips, gave his advice/recommendations on things to do, and how to do them. At the same time, my privacy was fully respected and I was left alone any time I chose to not engage with the family.

Mouna is a very generous woman, and also widely traveled. She helped with the decor of the Riad itself. Also, notably, she is a master chef, and cooks some really fantastic home-style dinner. Together, they make a fantastic couple, both widely traveled, and rich in culture with interesting stories to tell.

And if you end up at Riad Lahboul, be sure to say hello to their adorable children too!

This is a good place- lovely terrace to relax on the roof, a beautiful large dining area, kind and accomodating hosts, nice rooms, albeit small- the vast quantity of beautifully embroidered bed linen does not quite make up for the lack of space however-and the food is probably good if you like Moroccan food.
I don't....
All in all avery good place though .

Perfect location and by far the best stay on our trip around Morcocco. Simon and Mouna go out of their way to make it a positively memoriable stay. 5 star and homey at the same time. They have put a tremedous amount of energy decorating every single room in a tasteful way. Part of the fun was to lay back and take in all the detail. We were not disapointed when it rained and we spent the afternoon resting on the terrace, then in our room. Staying in was a treat. Also loved NOT being woken at dawn by the prayer as the interior court is closed off with a roof. ;-)
Food was amazing and I thank Mouna once again for making me a "special" meal of plain rice and butter to calm my tummy. The next night, I was able to enjoy a full and succulent dinner.
